Damn glad the fall was up and not down, and not too bad given the potential of any stair fall. Sounds like you’re in good spirits, even if lumped up a bit.

...Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way...

I have fallen up the stairs twice in recent years. Once with a box of lightbulbs, most of which I broke, and once with a sandwich on a plate, which went everywhere.

Nose survived both trips though.

My wife has a PHD on the topic. Not sure it's helped her much in life. She just doesn't apply it much. It's like she's not even trying. Wink

Hope the healing has already begun Para. Take it easy.

Wait a day or two, that’s when it all catches up with you and you think “I don’t remember doing that”. At least that’s how it works with me. Glad you weren’t hurt too bad.

Para, I’ve got to say, only you could manage to fall up the stairs and still walk away with your laptop in perfect condition. That kind of dedication to avoiding a Windows 11 machine is impressive. I hope your nose heals quickly and that you’re not too sore from the crash landing. Just know your priorities are clear; you’ll sacrifice your face before you let go of that laptop. Take it easy and get some rest, you’ve earned it.

Four years ago I missed the bottom step going down to the basement.

While carrying a laundry basket.
My face didn't hit the floor, because the block wall grabbed it first.

My head bent so far backwards I heard crackling
, momentary blackout.

How I didn't snap my spinal cord is a mystery.

You did not fall. You simply failed to achieve flight speed.

I trip up the steps. A lot.

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

If I ever get a stair lift, I want it to have enough power to launch my ass like the space shuttle up the stairs and then eject me like James Bonds Aston Martin. On the trip down, I want it to be like a HALO jump.
Might as well enjoy the ride!

I'm with you, Timdogg6. If Opie Taylor can call sleeping on the ironing board "adventure sleeping", I can refer to my falls as "Adventure Walking". Yeah, it still hurts, but the description is certainly more informative. Smile
