No kidding.
I just about broke my ass tailbone the last time I slipped on the steps.

Feel better and in the meantime, show off your battle scars!

Glad you’re (mostly) okay. Definitely better on the way up than on the way down.

Hope you feel better. You might use those spicy words tonight when you roll over and the nose hits the pillow just right. Been there, done that a few times.

A short while ago, while walking in the park, my foot snagged on a piece of broken pavement. I went down so fast I was not able to break my fall with my hands. And face planted hard. On pavement. Nearly lost consciousness. Lots of blood from wounds on my nose and cheek. Oddly, my ANSI rated sunglasses absorbed a lot of impact and lessened my injuries. I carry a small pack when walking and keep a surgical towel in it. Using that, I was able to stop the bleeding but it took awhile before I was able to gather myself enough to get back to my vehicle. The following day, my face looked like I went 10 rounds with Tyson. People stared at me in public! I now know why my Doc asks me "have you fallen recently"?
Glad you were not more seriously hurt. I hope you heal up quick!

I had three falls that landed me in the hospital. I go to PT twice per week and that has really helped.
Most falls for us older folks are due to balance issues. All of this happens silently until it results in a fall. One indication of balance issues is the inability to stand on one leg for 10 seconds without holding onto something.

Well shit, on top of the injuries, you’ll have to deal with the, “Have to fallen in the last year?” question when you see a doctor.

I fell on the step from the house to the garage. My wife's car stopped my face from hitting the floor. I got quite a shiner out of it.

Last month, I fell again in the garage and my elbow kept my face from hitting the floor or the Toro.

Getting old ain't for sissies.

That sucks. I have fallen down stairs more than once, both on my own and with assistance. To me, the worst feeling is after the trip, but before the fall. I'm glad it wasn't worse.

I wish you a speedy recovery. I collapsed on a sidewalk buy kept the dog leash in my left hand about 1-1/2 yrs ago. Right hand was outstretched to break the fall.
Face, nose and right eye were not happy. Please
be careful.

Unscathed, Allah be praised. To be forced to buy a Windows 11 machine is surely a fate worse than death.
