ASP doesn't mess around when conducting chases, normally a PIT comes as soon as they are in striking distance, however.

Officer Paschal, in pursuit of stolen Corvette try's to get the gal to pull over and stop because he doesn't want to damage the Corvette.

Of course Crazy Sarah doesn't, Pursuit starts at 1 min, Pit is at 4:30 and you get to see Sarah in all her glory at 8 Min.

And she's exactly what you pictured as a gal that would steal a Corvette. The Crazy part of the Hot/Crazy diagram is apropos...

That was some good driving by the trooper. He handled her well after the pit too.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

With all the intrusive gizmos that GM has, I'm surprised they could not shut that thing off. Especially if they started the process at the very time it was stolen.

She'll look better in a jail jumpsuit, shower shoes and having the drugs wear off. The twisted look on her face tells part of the story.

It’s a clapped-out C5.

And I’m guessing A is for Arkansas, not Arizona.

I know. I think there should be charges on the owner of that Corvette for horrendous taste.

Sitting in the patrol car, it appears like she wants to cry, but the drugs won't let her.

Well, it's in big blue letters on the video thumbnail, so not too hard to guess... Wink

This pursuit was in rural Northeastern Arkansas, right in member jbourneidentity's neck of the woods.

What’s it say in big blue letters?:

Big Grin Honestly, I didn’t read it anyway and clicked right through to YouTube to watch it full screen.

The C5 generation of Corvette was not equipped with remote shut off. The C5 is an amazingly capable car. This "modifugly" corvette in the video deserved to be shoved off of the road.

My mistake, that car looked like a newer model to me.
GM Started that stuff on OnStar around 2009.
Quote:
General Motors plans to equip 1.7 million of its 2009 models with a system that allows OnStar operators to cut engine power in the car if the police request it. The system was demonstrated in Washington, D.C. today.

GM's OnStar system already contains built-in GPS tracking that would allow police to find any OnStar-equipped vehicle. With the new technology, if the police request it, an OnStar operator will inform the occupants of the vehicle and then cut power. The engine will be slowed to idle speed, to allow the driver to move to the side of the road. Brakes and other electrical functions of the vehicle will still work.

Should be serving 25 to life just for the wheel fitment alone.

Kudos to the cop for being concerned about not damaging the lawful owner's property. Although, in this case knocking off some of those tasteless aftermarket accessories would've been an improvement.

I read the description at YouTube and it didn't mention how she stole it. She was drunk and high so I'm guessing the owner with the poor taste in accessories either left it running while going into the liquor store or was at the bar and his keys were sitting on the bar.
