Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee offered a new strategy to President Trump to de-escalate the nuclear weapon threats from North Korea: send California Rep. Maxine Waters.

"[Trump] has dispatched Maxine Waters to NOKO to talk to Lil Kim," Huckabee joked about the Democratic lawmaker who frequently calls for Trump's impeachment.

"After 1/2 hour with her he will drink whatever he gave to his 1/2 brother," the tweet continued.

South Korea said in February, North Korea's leader ordered his half-brother Kim Jong Nam killed after the latter was assassinated with a chemical nerve agent in a Malaysia airport.

Having nuclear weapons makes us more nervous, to be sure. But Kim would have to be a moron to use them. He doesn't seem to be a moron. He always talks a big game, but he never actually does anything. He doesn't really have a penchant for fireworks. As I said, he bluffs and blusters and talks as if he will go to war, but he doesn't. He kidnaps people, he arrests visitors, he assassinates his enemies, but he never really does anything bigger than that.

He seems to be very calculating. And not stupid. He knows he doesn't stand a chance if real fighting broke out. So he doesn't, and most likely won't, offer any meaningful provocation.

For 70 years, the Kims have stood on the other side of the border, yelling insults and mooning us, but not actually doing anything. They know they can be a pain in the ass without retaliation, but also know that they can't afford to goad us into attacking them.

Kim only seems crazy. He isn't.

An EMP strike would ALSO take out SKor, Japan, Eastern China/Russia, and the entire low earth orbit region.

We *could* do it, but we never will.

I doubt that anyone here knows exactly how EMPs could be used right now. And if he/she did know, they couldn't say.

I still see this going nowhere. The dude is just sooooo annoying and wants attention. No idea why he doesn't just shut the fuck up and mind his own crazy ass business.

Seriously, if he just laid low and kept his mouth shut, he'd probably be left alone for the most part to micro manage his country and be "worshipped" as a god by his citizens. Instead, he needs to bug everyone and put himself at risk at being embarrassed on the world stage.

If anything actually does happen, as stated by others, it's gonna be the deadly artillery barrage fired into South Korea killing 10,000's before those can be neutralized with our air power and missiles.

They probably even have sleeper cells in SK, and other countries that could do some damage and be really annoying (mass shootings, bombings, kidnappings, assassinations, etc). Maybe he'd even park nukes off SK in his shitty submarines.

Hell, I think we should just ignore the wacko and let China deal with him.

I wonder if we might be concerned he might do that to us? A EMP blast that is. I don't know what it takes to trigger one other than a nuclear explosion way up high over your target. I am sure our military would be fine....Not so sure about the rest of us and our power grids. Again I have not a clue if the little rat bastard has the capability.

A few years ago they sank a South Korean navy ship.

And building nuclear weapons is already serious, just because it shows our other opponents that somsone can get away with it.

Probably not. But the situation is crazy. Sometimes opponents actually get into a worse fight because they can't predict what the other side will do.

Have the effects of EMP on consumer electronics and power systems actually been tested/documented or is this another Y2K theoretical problem?

This would not be the first military mistake made in Korea. If you notice the Japanese still speak Japanese (sure blame it on the wind), the Koreans almost spoke Japanese, and if it hadn't been for China, Korea might already be unified.

Not exactly a great track record of military success

I agree, but that would lead me to argue that they are probably invested some Norks around Kim as well. Norks come cheap and there's no reason for the PRC to put all of its eggs in one basket.
