I bought a new LG gas stove/oven last September, this will be my last LG product I ever purchase. The oven will not maintain heat and varies up to 100 degrees from the setting. I have verified the temps with a ThermoWorks dual probe thermometer.

The LG tech is worthless and my wife bakes a lot so this is useless to her. Nothing bakes properly since it cannot maintain temp. I had an LG washer and should have learned from that since it died prematurely.

I am going to wait until Memorial Day during the sales and buy another gas oven. I do not think it is too much to expect the oven to stay within 10-15 degrees of the setting. Anyone have something newer they can recommended? It’s the 21st century and electronics are advanced enough to maintain the oven temp consistently.

Mine is a GE with upper and lower oven. It works great, but it's older now. I can't vouch for newer models.

Pretty happy with GE Profile over the last 30yrs of appliance purchases...except for the dishwashers, I'd go Bosch here.

If you use your stove a lot and want to step-up a notch, check out Fisher & Pakel. I very much like the bearings the oven grates ride on, very easy to pull out heavy items from a scorching hot oven.

The wife is a fan of Jenn-air. I like the cooking results and they have lasted.

Depends on your budget.

Number 1 pick wolf, I stay away from Viking.
For high end budgets, will last a lifetime.

Electrolux/Frigidare I have had very good luck with. IT came with my Kitchen. No problems for 10 years. I have used them in apartments. Rarely have a problem and tenants often beat stuff hard.

We've been happy with the GE gas range (JGB700SEJSS) we bought in 2020.

My recollection is that there was a model up from the one we bought that had what would have been a better burner configuration for us, but it was out of our price range at the time. Overall it's been working well. While I haven't tested for temperature swings in the oven, I believe it is much better than what we had before (better/more consistent bakes on NY style cheesecakes, sourdough bread).

All-in-one unit?

Our cooktop is a Z-line 6 burner. It's fantastic.
We have an LG double oven, electric. No complaints with it, but probably not my top choice if I were buying something new.

We have a Thermador and are happy with it. Not cheap. It’s a higher end brand but not the ultra expensive like Wolfe.

For a micro wave and stove oven combo it was about 8K.

We have a GE Monogram in a new build for a couple years now and it is terrific. Double convection ovens, six eyes and griddle in a 48". David Truong got the same line and had liked it a lot. They do make 36" models as well.

They are a bit pricey, but not at Viking levels. Check 'em out.

My parents had a Thermador double oven in their old house. Great unit & had an internal port for a temp probe. Great for roasts & tenderloins.

If your wife bakes a lot, you should consider getting a Duel-Fuel Range (Electric/Convection Oven & Gas Rangetop). You'd need to run a 40A circuit for it (if you don't already have one there), but you/your wife would benefit from better oven control resulting in much more accurate temps and more even heating. We've had our current GE Profile Dual Fuel Range for 20 years and my wife has been VERY pleased with it! We will definitely get another Dual-Fuel unit when the time comes to replace it, though not necessarily with a GE. Our range is our only GE appliance, and everything else is a Kitchen Aid, so we'd likely lean in that direction assuming it made sense. Hopefully I won't need to make any such decisions anytime soon. Wink

Dual fuel is the way to go. Gas cooktop and electric oven. We went with Thermador and I like it. but we did have to replace the motherboard as soon as the warrant expired. (stove and motherboard are two words that really should not be in the same sentence). The difficulty with Wolf, Termador and other commercial-adjacent styles is that the high output burners can make it difficult to get a low enough heat for sauces, etc.


The most effective safety is between your ears

Those look nice but the spousal unit does not want to spend more than $1500. Personally I am ready to buy one that will last the next 25 years. Looking back, I have purchased so many appliances over and over again that it would be worth spending more at teh start to have them last longer. The problem is that when you are young, you usually do not have he money for high end.

If I had to do it over again all my furniture would be Amish made for that very reason, it is built to last.

I agree on the dual fuel if you have both electric and gas connections.

I just remodeled my kitchen and splurged on a Wolf 36" all gas range. The oven is great and maintains temp really well, but I have heard the electric is even better.

Don’t know about the others but Wolf uses dual-stacked burners that allow precise heat control for both high-heat cooking and gentle simmering.

My Thermador has a setting that turns the low burner off and back on for sauces. It cycles back and forth.
