That sounds like our house. If you turn all the ceiling fans on "high", the dog hair blows into the corners. Then you only have to rake out the dog hair once or twice a year.Smile

Seriously, our two labs shed year round. If we don't use the Furminator every other day, then we end up vacuuming every other day. The Furminators work pretty well, and it's hard to believe that you can get that much hair off a dog without it being bald.

Anyone else use a Furminator? Haven’t found anything else that dose as good a job on our lab.

It does a wonderful job on our 2 dogs. I just wish they didn't shed 12 months a year.

A Lab rescue and an Akita mix rescue, non stop shedding.

We have 2 yellow labs and we own a pet store.

We think the best product available is the Furminator. Unfortunately it is also the most expensive and they have their patents locked up. There are some copies but we have found the original works the best.

It comes in 3 widths. We prefer the medium. Buy the right depth for your pup... short, medium and long hair. We use the medium hair model.

It is also available for cats.

Furminator makes a brush that attaches to a vacuum. Amazon has the best price.

We have what someone in this Forum called a “German Shedder.” It’s always shedding season, sometimes it’s just worse than others.

I've used that term here (from experience), but others have too. Here in AZ, there is almost always wind, and in particular where we live it is prevailing south-->north. We just open up all the windows, and magically all of the dog hair is blown to the north side of the house. Makes for easy collection. Smile

All our Aussie has to hear is "brush" and she becomes difficult to find.
Really is a bit of an art to brush the undercoat.

My two retrievers keep us well covered in fur. The golden drops fuzz constantly, while the lab mix is more off and on, and right now, she's in full shedding mode. Fortunately, they like being brushed. I can fill a trash bag with all the fuzz I collect each time I brush them. Vacuuming is a whole other topic. It's almost a daily chore.

We have some kinda gloves that we brush Rock with. He's a blonde German Shepard and his hair is outta control.

Rogue, Furminators come in all sizes. The one we use on our lab is about 4 inches wide.

We have the 5-inch wide "GIANT" size for our GSDs shed monsters because they didn't have a larger size when we got it. We joke about the need to move our big boy up to a new lawn rake size.

My fur-kids have been blowing coat, slang for How much freaking hair can you lose and still have fur?!?!, for *at least* 2 months.
When you have 2 Goldens, you get FOUR times the hair. I still haven't figured that math out.

Roxy is molting feathers like a busted pillow.

However I collect them up and keep them in a cedar box. Have done so for 25 years.

I have enough to make myself a cockatoo suit.

My dogs' fur clogs the filter in about five to ten minutes but one thing is sure - they love the feel after getting used to the noise.

Funny how the fuzz multiplies exponentially!
