throw my hat in the ring

positive thing, my son (23yo) has finally started working a real job (he had to quit smoking dope). he is learning a trade (turbine mechanic in the power generation field) and I will be his boss for a couple of jobs (shutdowns) then only as he is available will I get him. He is a smart kid and is already asking what it would take for him to get to where i am (a degree in engineering, or whole lot of experience) hopefully he can stick it out, its very hard work, but it pays good

didn't mean to rant on and thanks for your generous karma

Congratulation Mojojojo on your significant milestone.
The brightest star in my life lately has been our 2 year old daughter, Cici. We took her on her first camping trip last week and she was squealing every time she saw a bug. It was hilarious.
Please include me and thank you

Congratulations on the milestone!

The main positive thing I have right now is seeing my mom being able to do all the things she enjoys doing. She was on death’s door two years ago and could barely walk. She went through hell with cancer treatment and still has the cancer, but it is currently being maintained and she is back to doing gardening and things she enjoys. I am grateful I live close enough to see her every weekend and give her a big hug.

I want in and thanks for the chance. One positive for me is this forum, which is always good for an interesting topic to read about.

I'm in!
On a positive note: 25 years ago when I got married (2an) my wife's health problems had us thinking she wouldn't make another 5 years.
She is still here and in much better health then we ever thought possible!
She is probably gonna outlive me.

I'm joining the karma so I can post my positive thing: I am enjoying my life retired in, what is for me, the land of milk and honey in Prescott Valley, AZ. People are nice. Weather is just a few degrees more either way that I've been used to. And I have freedom way more than I could ever hope for than when I was in California.

But my current situation is made even more positive considering that about the time I joined SigForum, I joined as an escape from what was then my reality - a job that was killing me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, a mortgage under water, a 401k that was decimated, and the prospect of having to work until the day I die with no hope of retiring.

So, yes, everything is coming up roses for me and I'm on the right side of the ground to enjoy it.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Thx for the chance!
