So we could get my vehicle out of the garage without moving it. (Two car garage)

I had people park right on the edge of my driveway, almost on the sidewalk, so I could back my truck out of my garage. The distance between the parked vehicle and my the garage enabled me to 'reverse-parallel-park' my way out and clear. We do this when we expect heavy snow, so to clear the road for the snow plows.

And looking at those photos, it does look like a 2-door Chevy Impala (I know, they haven't built Impalas as 2-doors for decades, but that rear window looks Impala-ish). . .

I agree that it looks sort of like an early 2000's Maxima based on the shape of the rear window opening. If you pause it just right you can almost see the little sub-window that the Maxima has in back that doesn't roll down with the rest of the window.

If you pause it a 0:22-0:24 seconds it also looks like the car has a glass sunroof (moonroof) with one of those plastic wind deflectors. Also very common on the early 2000 Maximas.

I watched CSI once or twice:

We need a list of everybody who has purchased eggs within a 20 mile radius over the past 24 hours.

Also, everyone who owns a light colored sedan made in the last 20 years.

The guilty party will likely be someone in the subset of those two sets.

What is the possibility of this being the exact same size and color of the car driven by Rev. Walter Blessey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, when he and his wife Trixie were returning home after visiting with a parishioner who was taken to the local hospital late that night after ingesting a tainted chocolate Easter Bunny?

And at 74 and 31 years old, they are definitely not yutes.

I don't think so, I drove the wheels off a $300 green 1964 Buick Skylark hardtop. The lines and color just don't seem quite right. Razz

I'm thinking early 2000's Chevy Impala LS. It appears to have the Impala logo aft the rear door.

Im all over the place.

My initial guess was an older Ford Taurus becase of the roof line and the rear quarter glass shape.

Im also reminded of the first generation of the Nissan Altima for the same reason.

The way the front door edge at the window swoops up a bit reminds me of a Pontiac Grand Prix, say about 2000.

And lastly, I also saw the emblem behind the quarter glass too that reminds me of an Impala. I cant think of any other car that carries an emblem in that spot.

Steve,
We gotta get you some better cameras, and/or a heck of a lot more IR for the ones you have...

**Choose 1080p playback with the little gear thingy to see true quality..

Or go directly to the youtube page Here and choose full screen

The cameras are supposed to be pretty good - Hikvision HIDS2CD2032. The distance for the straight down the driveway view is 60 feet to the road. The other view is about 80-90 feet to the end of the driveway. No lights in the area except for my flag light and a very dim streetlight.

I'm open to suggestions. None of the cameras have been "tweaked" in anyway. Still need to set that up and get things straight with the software/settings.

Those are 3MP cams I believe? and fixed lens about 4mm probably, so zoom is out of the question. (this is where 2.7-12mm varifocals cams come in handy)

It's all about light, so if you don't have any white light you can leave on around the car, then add some strong IR. Cheap way to improve your night image quality a lot..

Those 3MP cams need a lot of help at night. I would try one of these mounted to your garage and see if it improves your night image a bunch. It's an inexpensive one so worth the test. I'll bet you'll be surprised.

One of these to power it, just test with an extension cord and adjust the point of aim before mounting permanent. If it works, you might add one on the corner of the house to help that second story cam.

Thank you. Normally, there is not a car in the driveway. Probably only 10 to 14 overnights a year. Most likely, I'll just leave the light above the garage and the entrance on at night instead (they were off), but thank you for pointing out an IR option.

Way too small to be a Maxima or Impala.

Based on the size and shape, I'm thinking more mid-2000s Kia:

Either that or late 90s/early 2000s Altima:

I'd like to revise my guess and say a Chevy Cavalier. The curve on the back of the rear side window seems to match. I'd post a picture, but Photobucket sucks.

Correct. If it were the rear springs would be compressed and shit would be flying out of the windows at that speed!
