INAL, but my understanding of amnesty laws is that once a refugee escapes from his source of fear, the FIRST country he lands in is where he requests and may be granted amnesty.

I'm just hoping Mexico continues to do their part; it will be interesting to see what happens to the ones that get in to Mexico legally though. I'd wager that once their obligation to control illegal entry into their own country is met, they don't care where they go from there, ie- the US border.

The Posse Comitatus Act (1878)prohibited use of the U.S. Army to aid civil officials in enforcing the law or suppressing civil disorder unless expressly ordered to do so by the president to handle an emergency (such as an invasion).

All the polls show that by far the biggest issue for republican voters this election is illegal immigration problem. I really hope President Trump takes a hard line approach to this invasion. With such a huge mass some violence may be unavoidable as I would bet there are plenty of agitators among them. But if President Trump goes soft it is going to hurt republican turnout. I don't believe he will.
