She is a Texas judge that hands out sentences like all judges should. Not sure how I have never heard of her before, check out some of the cases and sentences. I think the defense attorneys know their clients are not going to get off easy if they forego the jury trial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkyQt-Tw4SQ

For the most part, she's very clinical and that's not a slam against her. Just rattling off the "magic" words to make sure all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. I like that. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I like Stephanie Boyd very much as well. She really calls them out on bullshit and excuse-making.

Judge West is very fair minded and one thing she does that I love is tracks the jail incident reports. You have folks that come before her saying, "Oh, it was a mistake" "Oh, my child is such a kind & loving person" and they have 20 or 30 write-ups for misconduct in the jail... I enjoyed watching Stephanie Boyd. I guess she's going back to private practice after the election.
