We have a small group of "homeless" here in MQT. They are characterized as being "down on their luck" or "fallen on hard times". Ok! And we have the usual group of folks who want to cater to them. But the winter weather here cuts down on the whole experience. Which is one benefit of winter! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

^^^ There's an article about a lady who purchased high end tents for the homeless here in Chicago. They regularly buy, but mostly steal propane tanks for their heaters they use. Occasionally, the Tent City set up under an overpass or a walkway catches fire because of a heater. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. When too many people live too close together with little or no sanitation, there are all kinds of feces-contaminated-water-borne diseases that can start and spread. Typhoid fever, dysentery, cholera, even polio are just a few of them. Then, without any bathing, there are flea- and louse-borne ones like typhus. This was a big killer in concentration camps and war zones. How is it they aren't having outbreaks or such diseases? Or are there, and we aren't being told?

For starters often times the city provides port-a-potties for them. I've walked into public restrooms where these guys are basically stripped down taking a Navy shower/bath in the sink. They seem to have all the toiletries they need. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

I was in LA about a month ago for work and it was pretty bad. We stayed under a mile from the convention center and were advised NOT to walk back in the early evening hours or after dinner. Large population of homeless right outside of the hotel and at the 7/11 across the street. The beat goes on… “A brazen homeless man has constructed his own functioning home on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles - complete with an electricity generator and flower garden. Identifying as 'Q,' [not our Q] the man built the shed on wheels by using old planks of wood from construction sites because the city's temporary housing options are like 'concentration camps.' The makeshift home, set up on the public sidewalk, stands on top of car batteries and is decorated by various plants on its exterior - and the man said that it was an upgrade from the tent he was previously living in. …” DailyMail article: https://mol.im/a/11364111 Serious about crackers
