Prime rib is hard to come by around me from local butcher shops. These are 2 deals I found today in case you are looking.

Walmart - $10.87/lb boneless

Costco - $13.99/lb whole bone in roasts

I got one of each, the small one is going in the freezer and the big one is going to get smoked on Christmas day.

Jewel stores around me have bone in Prime Rib for $6.99# (choice).
They want $4.99 #(sale price) for ground beef 80/20.makes the prime Rib price seem like a super bargain.

Spoke to the butcher at publix earlier today, they'll be on next weeks sale ad, $8.99/lb.

I'll be filling both freezers.

Yep, I wanted to do better price wise but I also needed to ensure I got a full 7 bone roast to do to feed everyone.

Just paid $21.99/lb for a 7.5# Prime rib-roast at Costco

I know Lucky's had a promo for $9.99/lb for a bone-in rib roast last week, overall quality not the same but, an option.

Given the higher prices of beef the last 3-4 months, industry has been promoting top sirloin roasts as an alternative.

At Publix this week, standing rib roast is $9.99 a pound, whole NY strip or NY strip loin roast is $7.99 a pound, and whole brisket is $5.99 a pound. The difference between whole NY strip and NY strip loin roast is the strip loin roast is what’s left over after from the whole NY strip after the best parts are cut off as NY strip steaks.

Acme Supermarkets $6.99lb and they will cut into bone in rib eyes (any thickness) or trim it into boneless steaks as well. Acme is owned by Safeway.

Safeway/Albertsons in my area, $6.97/lb with $50 grocery purchase (not including the roast), limit 1.

On the shelf they only had 4-6 lb cut ribs, but I was able to sweet talk the meat guy into bringing an uncut one out from the back for me, 19.36 lb.

I’ll do 1/2 in the Sous Vide for Christmas and cut the rest into steaks.
