I was writing a life insurance application yesterday when this decision was about to be made public. My customer was giving me her undivided attention, but her sister had the tv blaring and it was difficult to concentrate and talk.

When the OJ verdict was about to be announced, I was at the Arlington Co. Courthouse, picking up my CCW, which was a thing in those days. They wouldn't mail them, wouldn't laminate them and the deputy who went to retrieve my permit acted like he couldn't be bothered, as he might miss the verdict announcement.

I didn't really follow the case, but knew Alan Jackson very well when he was a deputy district attorney for Los Angeles County. He was/is extremely detail oriented. professional, and if I was ever charged with a criminal matter, I'd definitely want him representing me. One thing for sure: Any case involving Alan, would NOT be reversed due to "ineffective representation."

ID released something a few months ago on the case. If that is the same production, they're simply trying to gain viewers on the recent verdict, and it's a hack job. It doesn't at all give the full story.

I am semi-local.

The word I'm hearing is that it was a frame job.

Absolutely no damage to the body indicates it was hit by a car.

By three different medical examiners.

The trauma was more consistent with a fight, a fall, and a head hitting a hard surface.

At a drunken police party.

Yes, it's the ID film that was shot during the first trial. I just posted it for those who hadn't watched the whole first trial and wanted a brief overview of the details of the case. I think the first trial went into better details on the people inside the house and the strange things that went on that night.

Yes, the defense's strategy this go around was specifically about the collision (which evidently didn't happen) as opposed to the overall conspiracy. Better strategy. Since the evidence clearly shows John O'Keefe was not hit by a vehicle.

Any educated guesses as to the cost of two trials with a high powered defense team? Yikes!

A lot. Though I heard the defense team was working mostly pro bono because they felt so adamantly that Karen Read was innocent.

On the flip side, the commonwealth of Massachusetts likely spent over $2 million convicting a woman of DUI.
