Man Sues Burger King Over Meatless Burger
See what happens when attempting to appease the politically correct? None are pure enough to satisfy Social Justice. SJ has been weaponized. The only way to win that game is not to play.

They have to get some flavor into the patty somehow.

He’ll probably win or get a settlement. Use the peanut defense. (How all pkgs, food has to be marked if it was even made at the same place peanuts are used.)
However, the peanut one will kill ya, the BK one will just hurt your feelings. I hope they laugh at him.

I suspect Burger King would be breaking federal law by not saying there's 0% beef:

quote:
Pursuant to 7 CFR 54.1 (Title 7, Agriculture; Subtitle B, Regulations Of The Department Of Agriculture; Chapter I, Agricultural Marketing Service H1 (Standards, Inspections, Marketing Practices), Department Of Agriculture; Subchapter C, Regulations And Standards Under The Agricultural Marketing Act Of 1946 And The Egg Products Inspection Act; Part 54, Meats, Prepared Meats, And Meat Products (Grading, Certification, And Standards);Subpart A, Regulations; Definitions) the term Meat means “the edible part of the muscle of an animal, which is skeletal, or which is found in the tongue, in the diaphragm, in the heart, or in the esophagus, and which is intended for human food, with or without the accompanying and overlying fat and the portions of bone, skin, sinew, nerve, and blood vessels which normally accompany the muscle tissue and which are not separated from it in the process of dressing. This term does not include the muscle found in the lips, snout, or ears.” (7 CFR 54.1)

Byproducts aren't meat.

Missouri even passed a law a few years ago that banned the use of the term "meat" if it was not directly from a slaughtered animal.

Except it’s not only vegetables. Apparently the main ingredients are and they are good for you but in order for it to be made to look like a burger all kinds of crappy stuff is put into it and it’s most likely worse for you than the original whopper. Mice get cancer quickly from a bunch of the crap they put in there but it’s still under the allowable amount for a human.

I tried being a Vegan in the mid '90's. It ain't easy. I took it upon myself to do my due diligence when dining out. He should have done the same.

This guy was looking for a lawsuit.

Do you have a source for the mice getting cancer from the ingredients in the Impossible burger? All I'm finding are inferences from PETA.

It's true and seemed to be the crux of PETA's argument. I seems the soy root derived ingredient that gives the Impossible burger it's bloody meat like taste and juiciness causes the patty to have more iron than a traditional meat patty. Too much iron can cause an increase in chance of cancer. I read that to get to the dose of iron needed to cause this, a 150 pound person needs to eat 625 Impossible burgers a day.

This is why I'm asking 1s1k for a source. I spent fair amount of time looking for myself and the PETA nonsense was all I found.

Should I assume that this idiot thought Burger King installed special grills, just to make this single item?

Consumer Reports recently did a story on the fake burgers and I believe their conclusion was the health benefits are questionable.

Look at the Sodium content, if you are over 40 there are ZERO health benefits but 1240 milligrams of health deficits.

I was being rhetorical, not literal with that post. I'm sure you're right though about the ingredients.
