Mine is a lower level Black and Decker that has served well for several years. But now the battery is nearing the end of its life as it's depleting its charge quickly. I looked at the B&D for $55 on Amazon but 5% of reviews said it was underpowered, spewed debris, etc. I looked at the $89 B&D and again, 5% of the reviews said it was so loud it could damage your hearing. I've already got tinnitus so.... What brand do you use? Just cause you guys are good with solid info 'bout stuff.

This one on Amazon has proven very handy for me. Yes, China-built, but seems to be of decent quality, and 1/3 the price of the B&D unit.

I ended up with a Dewalt handheld vacuum, it uses the same batteries as the rest of my tools and is exponentially more powerful that the stick vacs you're talking about. Its slightly larger, but the increase in capability makes up for the size difference. Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view. Complacency sucks…

we use a Dyson handheld which is part of a stick vacuum setup. It works great, has never broken and the only thing we replace outside of filters is the battery when it is used up. There are always deals on Woot, and other brands that are not as expensive as Dyson, for around a $100 you get the handheld, stick, accessories etc. Link
