| Fire insurance in the Hollywood Hills starts at 125k. No doubt for Malibu it should be near the same if not more. |

IF you can even find a carrier to write a policy. Many companies have pulled out of CA altogether And good look with California FAIR plan. I had clients who had modest homes in Tahoe, Marin or even the Bay Area peninsula hills. And their policies were crazy expensive, IF they could even get it. More .gov interference in the marketplace when the insurance commissioner froze rates during covid and really haven’t allowed them to change. No insurance company will stick around if they can’t even price for risk let alone some profit. If Chubb or Lloyds of London or other high end insurer will do Hollywood Hills etc that’s awesome only the celebs that live there can afford it. Or pay your mortgage off and go naked. Your lender will force place insurance on yih if you let it lapse. And I had a few clients that called me and said the bank’s insurance as expensive as it is, is cheaper than anything I can get so let it go. Didn’t include any liability or personal items. Just enough to cover the house in event of loss and bank was only beneficiary. |
