I visited MJ in April 2019. While Lance is associated with the shop, I’m not sure he has much to do with the day to day operations.

This is sad - I bought $300 worth of riding gear with the MJ logo. It’s the most comfortable shorts/bib and jersey I own. Made in Italy.

And my Ironman race was cancelled today. Not a great day for Austin or for bikes enthusiast.

Fixed that for you. They’ve even got Tesla down there now. The circle is complete.

They’ve already had their Portland like protests down there, taking over downtown.

Wether or not its true about Armstrong's approval of this action, Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop sure failed to pull the wool over the public's eyes.

Was just there a couple weeks back getting my daughter moved out of her apt post-graduation from UT.

Cool town, good places to eat but the homeless are everywhere and the stupid is strong with the libtard-gensia there. She's since move to San Antonio.

Sadly in a town like Austin this won't hurt their business as I see it, because there is so much work for bike shops now and there are so many SJW douchebags in Austin that this kind of thing will resonate with.

Probably not, but it'll stain Armstrong badly (for what that's worth). For the last few years he has been working hard to reshape and rebuild his reputation and image. Believe it or not, he's actually been succeeding at it. If he doesn't get in front of this, I think that'll all go up in flames. Of course, I can only speak for myself. I'll be completely finished with him and his ventures if he doesn't separate himself from this grossly anti-American, anti-Law Enforcement crap.

No, we've already got enough problems with people trying to make the pilgrimage to the site of the magic bus, we don't need pilgrims clad in spandex trying to go see if they can find one of his balls.

What a complete piece of shit. I was a fan of his before his Tour wins and after his first one and talk of his doping hit the industry, I came to loathe him. He alone is responsible for chasing me away from following pro cycling in the early 2000s, never to return. Greg LeMond was totally right about the asshole.

It is a character defect of these has-been celebrities, they seem to desperately grasp at some more 15 minutes by announcing their hatred of America. Fuck these losers. Armstrong, once one of the most famous guys on the planet is a nobody, a cheatin' anti-American scumbag.

Visited once way back when Armstrong was more involved, it was rolled out as a boutique cycling shop, very exclusive, I was selling Timbuk2 messenger bags at the time. This was at the same time when Rapha (another boutique bike brand) was setting up roots in the US. Bike snobs are the worst, very entittled, their bastard children make up a lot of the misfits you see in PDX/SEA; the three employees who complained and their spineless managers are the same.

While Lance maintains a significant ownership stake, and Mellow Johnny's is still known as "Lance's bike shop", I doubt he had any input in the decision. He spends the majority of his time living in CO. The repeated meantioning of Lance's name in the article and leading off w/ it in the headline is nothing but a cheap grab for attention and reader clicks.

There's a second Mellow Johnny's in Ft Worth, and they made a point to specify that the two stores are under separate leadership and while not tacitly disagreeing w/ their sister store, they were not falling in line w/ the other store's political decision either.

"A message from our Fort Worth ownership: While Mellow Johnny’s Fort Worth shares the name with Mellow Johnny’s Austin, the two stores operate under separate management and ownership. Mellow Johnny’s Fort Worth is not connected in any way to the decisions made by the Austin location’s management. Mellow Johnny’s Fort Worth supports our community as well as responsible and ethical law enforcement."

If this were Lance's call, don't you think it would be carried across both stores?

Good, no doubt there is a sane shop that will welcome the business.

Side note for MJ of Austin. There’s a coffee bar attached to the bike shop (of course there is).

It’s named Juan Pelota. Pelota en espanol is ball. So Juan (one) ball is the name of a he coffee shop. Kinda funny.

If they choose to be silent at their sisters stupidity it means they are accepting of it so I would lump them in with the first store. That is, they can certainly say who they want to or not do business with, whereas we can all say who we will not do business with. Easy choice.

I don't really need to do business with bike shops in general. However, this one is added to the already long list of places in Austin that no one in my family is allowed to conduct business with...well I would use their bathroom if I was desperate.

Austin City officials...never saw a crazy bat-sh__ liberal program they did not like.
