6/6/2019 -- Michael Flynn fired his lawyers before sentencing: President Trump's first national security adviser Michael Flynn just fired his lawyers and replaced them as he awaits his sentencing for lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts. http://bit.ly/2Mxhoh1 THE HILL > https://thehill.com/policy/nat...nn-fires-his-lawyers Why: That is not clear. All we know is that "a court filing Thursday revealed that Flynn had notified his attorneys Robert Kelner and Stephen Anthony that he is 'terminating' them as his counsel and has already hired new lawyers to replace them." *********************** * Diligentia Vis Celeritis * *********************** "Thus those skilled in war subdue the enemy's army without battle .... Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
Seems that new FBI documents related to his case are being disclosed daily and the info doesn't really back up their case against him. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

His current counsel are not at all upset by being replaced. New counsel will correctly ask for time, and lots of it, to review documents, ask for more and do whatever else they can to stay this it while the daily dribble of info that helps Flynn comes out. Eventually, Flynn may ask to withdraw his plea on the grounds of prosecutorial misconduct and the charges missed. He may win that argument.

I'm no legal beagle but that was my original thought when I heard this news. Let this play out a bit before the final sentence is made.

I feel pretty confident he's going to be ok legally. But is there any recourse for him financially? When the govt's case so full of holes, can he get the gov't. to cover any of his legal fees?

With gross acts of government misconduct, the government sometimes acts to compensate. Think Randy Weaver and Ruby Ridge. Even Di-Fi voted to compensate him at 3.2 million.

related to above post Flynn's lawyer is Sydney Powell. She wrote a good letter. 19 pages long but it is a very fast read. She accuses the DoJ prosecutors Van Grack, Weissmann, and Ahmad of withholding evidence that would help the Flynn defense. last para of her letter to the Court: For these reasons, Mr. Flynn requests that this Court (i) issue an order to show cause why the government should not be held in contempt because of their violation of this Court’s Standing Order and their legal and ethical duties to produce exculpatory and impeachment evidence to the defense; (ii) thereafter find the prosecutors in contempt of this Court’s Brady order; (iii) issue an order to them and to the Department of Justice to preserve all evidence, emails, notes, documents, texts, cell phones—including those of the Special Counsel team—and (iv) order the Department of Justice to produce all evidence the defense requests in our accompanying Motion and any and all other Brady information in the government’s possession.

Sydney Powell is an expert on the Brady Violations by the DOJ, she actually wrote the book. Obviously the DOJ has failed to produce exculpatory and (witness)impeachment evidence and share it with the defense. Evidently Kelner and Anthony did not want to take The DOJ on about this failure. S. Powell is one tough Texan will raise hell.

Too soon old, too late smart |
Powell’s book, License to Lie is a great read. Flynn has excellent representation now.
