The left claims that the FBI would never put a spy in the Trump campaign, and that Trump is delusional and a liar for saying so. But... Then the left says Republicans are risking national security by asking for the non-existent spies name and RUSSIA!!! God Bless and Protect President Donald John Trump. https://www.washingtonexaminer...y-cough-up-documents House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., on Sunday said he ignored an invitation by the Justice Department to continue talks Friday with government officials about documents he seeks related to the Russia investigation because he was sure someone at the agency was leaking. "We're not going to go to another meeting where we don't get documents, and then the meeting leaks out," Nunes did not respond to an invitation from the DOJ to answer questions he posed last week in a follow-up meeting Friday. Nunes explained Sunday that he and Gowdy did not accept the invite because they found out they would not be receiving the documents they wanted. Nunes also said that had they gone, leaks about an supposed FBI informant who had contacts with President Trump's campaign would be pinned on them. adding something quite important: seen on CT, the Nunes interview https://youtu.be/xSEamaRxBC8 Nunes said they were invited to a DoJ mtg last Friday. He found out Thursday night that they weren't going to see documents. So he didn't go to the mtg because there are always leaks. And then late Friday there was another major leak about the FBI spy. Nunes is implying the DoJ was setting him up. Invite him to a mtg. Tell him nothing new. Then blame him for a major leak that was already in play. Sessions needs to head hunting in DoJ. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx President Trump tweet (today): I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration! I like this guy's viewpoint House Freedom Caucus (HFC) co-founder Jim Jordan detailed his vision for the United States at a conservative conference on May 17, adding further speculation the stalwart is angling for a bid to take over for outgoing Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. It is time to get back to the basics of American life: God, family and country, Jordan told the crowd gathered. He harked on other values, like discipline, dedication, a sense of service to others, and a life grounded in religion. All of these, Jordan contends, are what is needed to keep America strong, safe and prosperous in the future. Jordan thinks the primary focus for Republicans right now should be on maintaining their House majority and ensuring the next speaker is committed to making good on what the party promised voters in 2016, according to conversations The Daily Caller News Foundation had with House staffers. In his speech last week, Jordan said just that: it is time for congressional Republicans to deliver on the policies they promised voters in the last election cycle. “What did you tell the American people you were going to do? Go do that,” Jordan said in the speech. “There is one guy who is doing that right now, and not all of us in this room supported him when he ran for president. He is doing what he said he would do.” Jordan raddled off a laundry list of accomplishments on the part of President Donald Trump’s administration — cutting taxes, getting Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch on the bench, eliminating the Iran Deal, and moving the embassy to Jerusalem. “Compare and contrast that to Congress. Think about this: other than the tax cuts, you tell me what Congress has done that is worth while. You tell me what we have done that is consistent with the promises we made the American people in that election, on that day, Nov. 8, 2016?” Jordan asked. His statement there is similar to what the congressman told TheDCNF in early February, making the argument that the next speaker, whoever they may be, should be focused on delivering on promises. “What’s important is not who the next speaker is, but what the next speaker does,” Jordan told TheDCNF in early February. “It’s time to start delivering on what we told the American people we would do.” Two of the top House Republicans — House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana — are angling for the position, but neither thought to have a guaranteed lock on the speakership. McCarthy failed to garner the 218 required votes to become speaker in 2015, but his particularly close relationship with the president has some expecting that, along with Ryan’s full fledged endorsement, will give him an upper hand over Scalise in the coming months. Scalise wouldn’t rule out a potential bid for Ryan’s job but is also adamant he would not run against McCarthy, who he considers a “good friend,” he said in March. Yet, House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, who is best friends with Jordan, might have the closest relationship with the president over any other member of Congress. During his speech Thursday, Jordan joked that Meadows was in the back, taking a phone call from the president, which Meadows is known to do on a regular basis. Conservatives are already pressing Jordan to make a serious play at speaker. Nearly 50 conservative figures are circulating a letter that will eventually go to Jordan, urging him to throw his hat in the race. Jordan’s response to questions about the speaker’s race have been the same since the day TheDCNF first reported the growing wave of support for his candidacy: there is no speaker’s race, and we need to focus on the issues. Jordan and Meadows are no strangers to taking on leadership, having been a continuous thorn in the side of Ryan, McCarthy and Scalise since Republicans took over the House. Leadership got a wake-up call Friday morning when Jordan, Meadows and HFC members shot down a farm bill in order to secure a vote on an immigration proposal they were promised months ago. Ryan and McCarthy huddled with House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows and co-founder Jim Jordan in the back of the House chamber before the final gavel, but their 11th-hour attempts to sell the bill fell on deaf ears. The bill failed with members voting 198-213, dealing a decisive blow to leadership. Friday’s vote is evidence the HFC has the leverage to sway major policy issues, given the power of the caucus’ 36 members’ votes. If the caucus votes as a coalition, they can kill a bill or get concessions from leadership. That could come into play with the speaker’s race. Many believe Jordan’s bid would be to get concessions from either McCarthy or Scalise, but Ryan still has the rest of year as speaker. That is, if he isn’t pressured to step down earlier. McCarthy’s folks are reportedly nervous about the potential heat he will take in a drawn out speaker’s race if Ryan decides to do as he has promised and “run through the tape.” http://dailycaller.com/2018/05...aker-of-house-video/

The Justice Department asked its watchdog to look into any alleged "impropriety or political motivation" in the FBI's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, the DOJ said Sunday night -- hours after President Trump ordered a review looking into whether federal agents infiltrated or surveilled his campaign for political purposes. "I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes -- and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!" the president tweeted. "The Department has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) application process to include determining whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 presidential election. As always, the Inspector General will consult with the appropriate U.S. Attorney if there is any evidence of potential criminal conduct," DOJ spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores told Fox News. She also released a response from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein: "If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action." Trump, late last week, began accusing the Justice Department of trying to frame him by planting a spy in his campaign -- an allegation his own lawyer said might not be true. Promoting a theory that is circulating, Trump quoted Fox Business anchor David Asman and tweeted Friday: "Apparently the DOJ put a Spy in the Trump Campaign. This has never been done before and by any means necessary, they are out to frame Donald Trump for crimes he didn't commit." But Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani cast some doubt on that. On whether there was an "informant" in the 2016 presidential campaign, Giuliani told CNN, "I don't know for sure, nor does the president, if there really was one," though he said they have long been told there was "some kind of infiltration." Earlier this month, the National Review raised the question of a possible FBI spy in Trump's campaign. The article cites work by California Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, an ardent Trump supporter and head of the House Intelligence Committee, who has demanded information on an FBI source in the Russia investigation. Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee as its vice chairman, objected Friday to such demands, emphasizing "the critical importance of protecting sources and methods." "It would be at best irresponsible, and at worst potentially illegal, for members of Congress to use their positions to learn the identity of an FBI source for the purpose of undermining the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in our election," Warner wrote in a statement. "Anyone who is entrusted with our nation's highest secrets should act with the gravity and seriousness of purpose that knowledge deserves." The New York Times reported separately this past week that at least one government informant met several times with Carter Page and George Papadopoulos, both former foreign policy advisers for Trump's Republican campaign. The Times reported Friday that the informant talked to Page and Papadopoulos because they had suspicious contacts linked to Russia. The newspaper attributed the information to current and former FBI officials. Also Friday, Giuliani said special counsel Robert Mueller has narrowed his possible interview subject areas from five to two as negotiations continue over whether the president will sit down and answer questions in the Russia investigation. Mueller is investigating possible coordination between Russia and Trump's 2016 campaign. A number of Trump outside advisers -- including former chief strategist Stephen Bannon -- have stepped up their attacks on the Department of Justice, calling for it to release more documents to the White House while saying a confidential source has worked against Trump. Many of deep state friendly news media seem to have given up denying Stefan Halper did have interaction w Papadopoulos and Page, but they are arguing this was a "normal" thing for the FBI to do as part of the counterintelligence investigation. Much less talked about is that Halper offered to help the campaign re foreign affairs when he talked to Sam Clovis. Clovis didn't bite. Look for the argument to be "he didn't infiltrate the campaign", he just gathered some info. note Rosenstein's words “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes" Things are certainly heating up. Meanwhile Mark Warner continues to whine about national security and protecting sources while Halper's name and his DoD contracts are spreading all over the internet.

Former CIA Director-turned-Twitter troll, John Brennan lashed out at Trump on Sunday evening after the President ordered the DOJ to investigate the FBI’s infiltration of his campaign. Brennan also fired a warning shot to House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that they will ‘bear the majority of the responsibility of the harm done to our democracy’ if they don’t stop Trump. As previously reported by TGP’s Kristinn Taylor, President Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon he is ordering the Justice Department to investigate whether the Obama administration spied on his 2016 presidential campaign. The order comes on the heels of leaks to the New York Times and Washington Post that the Obama administration had an “informant” make several approaches to three Trump campaign officials, included one that involved an offer of cash and another an offer to “advise” the campaign. Trump tweeted: “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes — and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!” the president tweeted. Obama’s former CIA chief was also involved in setting up Russian espionage traps for minor players in Trump’s camp, according the investigative reporter, Paul Sperry. Conservative Treehouse rocks I missed the long sequence of Donald Trump tweets starting yesterday https://twitter.com/realDonald...serp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor oldest to newest If the FBI or DOJ was infiltrating a campaign for the benefit of another campaign, that is a really big deal. Only the release or review of documents that the House Intelligence Committee (also, Senate Judiciary) is asking for can give the conclusive answers. Drain the Swamp! Things are really getting ridiculous. The Failing and Crooked (but not as Crooked as Hillary Clinton) @nytimes has done a long & boring story indicating that the World’s most expensive Witch Hunt has found nothing on Russia & me so now they are looking at the rest of the World! ..At what point does this soon to be $20,000,000 Witch Hunt, composed of 13 Angry and Heavily Conflicted Democrats and two people who have worked for Obama for 8 years, STOP! They have found no Collussion with Russia, No Obstruction, but they aren’t looking at the corruption.. ...in the Hillary Clinton Campaign where she deleted 33,000 Emails, got $145,000,000 while Secretary of State, paid McCabes wife $700,000 (and got off the FBI hook along with Terry M) and so much more. Republicans and real Americans should start getting tough on this Scam. Now that the Witch Hunt has given up on Russia and is looking at the rest of the World, they should easily be able to take it into the Mid-Term Elections where they can put some hurt on the Republican Party. Don’t worry about Dems FISA Abuse, missing Emails or Fraudulent Dossier! What ever happened to the Server, at the center of so much Corruption, that the Democratic National Committee REFUSED to hand over to the hard charging (except in the case of Democrats) FBI? They broke into homes & offices early in the morning, but were afraid to take the Server? ....and why hasn’t the Podesta brother been charged and arrested, like others, after being forced to close down his very large and successful firm? Is it because he is a VERY well connected Democrat working in the Swamp of Washington, D.C.? The Witch Hunt finds no Collusion with Russia - so now they’re looking at the rest of the World. Oh’ great! I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CT reminds that the WH has had the DoJ IG draft report since Thursday So many things have been forgotten. In DT's tweets he mentions "Terry M got off the hook" At one time McAuliffe was being investigated. Strzok: 24 May 2016: "Feds are investigating Gov. McAuliffe's Campaign Donations" Oct 2016: Strzok and Page talking about why McCabe must recuse at this late date, so close to election Strzok: 29 Oct 2016 : "I assume McAuliffe picked up. But that doesn't make sense. He said he was interviewing, maybe he's headed into private sector ?"
