A little excitement yesterday in my sleepy one-horse town. A perp commandeered a green Corvette from a Chevy dealership and led cops on a multi-county chase that circled all the way back to San Jose. A sergeant was shot. The perp was shot many more times, then one of the officers made a finishing move. ***WARNING*** The video below might put a smile on your face. This message has been edited. Are police cruisers armored in any way? If it's got a cop motor, cop tires and cop shocks, it should have cop doors too. | |||

The officer bailed on being a sitting duck, used the entire Explorer as cover, and stayed in the fight. Is that trained? Not the staying in the fight part, but the bailing and keeping the vehicle between you and the shooter. | |||
