Grow up, snowflake. For a time I drove this road to work.

Three hours out of my day in addition to the 8-9 hours of work.

I had a job where I was paid for my travel time to work every day. If I wanted to go home, well, that was on me.

actually, I feel for this young woman
she is just another cog in the wheel of feminism.
I think that what she is feeling is, that she is fighting against nature itself

she needs to find herself a real man who will support her, maybe live on a farm, not less work, more fulfilling work. Make babies, bake, make friends, enjoy cookouts, go to church, take care of your man and enjoy a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine). And maybe there will come a time when she wishes to work outside the home, because she can, not because she has to.

men are different, we are heartier, we put up with the bullshit because we can sacrifice for our families. We are hunters, fighters even, women are nurturers.
I mean, damn it, women and men are different.

What have we, as conservatives, conserved?

edited to add --- then again, I might be wrong, maybe she is just a spoiled little brat on her period

I can’t wait until she realizes she didn’t do her tax forms correctly and she owes Uncle Sam another two thousand dollars.

Paradigm Shift, it's not going back in the bottle.

COVID and WFH changed how people will work and employers must embrace...

Employers found they could eliminate costly business leases, reducing overhead significantly, phones, lights, desks, chairs, cleaning staff, supplies, all that could be reduced straight to the bottom line, so they encouraged it, only to find managing WFH is a full time job.

Employees working from home realized they could eliminate the gas, insurance, clothing, food, all the expenses associated with having a job then it's going to be difficult to change that mentality, child care costs were cut, saving new families thousands a year, no child care costs, one car vs two, no lunch expense, less clothing costs, fuel, insurance, and more time with the family since you don't spend 2 to 4 hours a day in traffic. It's easy to see the draw to this type of work life.

Ad an employee shortage, or, increase employer access to worldwide talent via WFH and it's a self full filling prophecy, it's not going back to the old way. You can lose long term employees with lots of experience and talent not embracing it.

Wife's office just lost a 15 year employee over the return to the office full time. Won't go into all the details but she left, found WFT full time and same income she was offered the new job out of the blue, but it triggered the decision with the new company rules... Timing and all that it's a minefield for employers right now.

Toilet paper. That cost at home must have doubled or even tripled. Big Grin

I will never miss Ft. Irwin or that road. How many white crosses are on the side of the highway now?

^^^^^^^^^^ Hard times make strong men. Strong men make good times. Good times make weak men. Weak men make hard times. Life in this country has been relatively good and leisurely. Only a small percentage of the pop has had to really scrape life out of the dirt or die. None that I know of have had their communities sacked by murderous savages and left for dead. Most young people have never had to wonder if they'll be alive tomorrow.....or even in the next several minutes. Good times make weak people.

Lauren Southern made a great reply to the original video about how if she said exactly the same thing with a MAGA hat and included comments about why things were that way, conservatives would all be praising her.

Pathetic. Some people just don't get life and continually make bad choices. Not to beat a dead horse but if you vote for a dem., expect more of the same. They only want to give all your money to someone else who doesn't want to work for it.

The road looks great for driving, for those of us who like driving, but not for three hours each day, good lord !! I think a 30 minute drive each way on that road would be pretty relaxing and enjoyable (for those who like driving), as long as the traffic is reasonable. I'm guessing the traffic is always reasonable on that particular road ?

Had she posted any followup to her whiny tirade? I'd be interested to hear her reaction to the attention she's getting. Frankly, I wouldn't expect her to have actually learned anything from this, but there's always that slim outside chance.

Rolling Stone interview: A Viral Video About Her 9-to-5 Left People Enraged. She Says They’re Missing the Point

From the interview

"The 21-year-old graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2023, a year earlier than the rest of her class, in an effort to cut down the cost of tuition. She was overjoyed to finally have a job, but taking it meant moving away from her friends and family in South Carolina to New Jersey. She’s staying with a family friend to save money on rent but commutes almost two hours daily into Manhattan, which she feels leaves little time to meet new people or make friendships in a brand new place. Asero says she recognizes how lucky she is to have a job at all, which is something she also mentions in her viral video, but has been overlooked by pundits making fun of her."

“[Gen-Z] works just as hard as people before us, with lower salaries and higher costs of living,” Asero says. “When the standard work week [was implemented] people could afford to support a family with one spouse staying home and taking care of the mental load, food, and children. But that is hardly the case anymore. And most people who are mad at me are just taking out the anger they feel over the time they’ve lost working long hours. I just wanted to bring people together who feel this way to possibly incite a change.”
