My 4 daughters always worked in H.S. and college. My grandkids, age 12-20 all have jobs. Sometimes I think they are spending a bit too much time working while in high school, but they are all frugal and most of the money goes to savings. Their mothers all said that their having had jobs in high school was very important in shaping their adult lives. If more kids learned to work early in life, we would at least have fewer of these crybabies

This is good news for the young adults with good values and a strong work ethic. They will have lots of opportunity to thrive while losers like that woman will fail.

I have three recent college graduates (within the last seven years) One is a senior chemist with E. & J. Gallo, another a senior accountant with an IT consulting company, and the other a US Army Captain. Miss TikTok Twit needs to grow up.

8 hour workday, so we're talking short days then. For 45 years or so a 40 hour week was a short week for me. The whole "me" time is a foreign concept to me. I grab a little me time when I hunt and I figure I'll snag some when I'm dead unless someone needs something.

If anything, I worked fewer hours post degree. I was working an hourly job at a dealership, pushing between <50hrs/wk sometimes. Going to a regular 8-5, at a desk, was like a break. The Enemy's gate is down.

I get all emotional like that when I’m on my period, too. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. --

Boohoo. When I was younger than she is I lived in the country and drove 120 miles round trip to work in downtown Dallas, came home and fixed dinner for me and my husband, and spent all weekend trying to do laundry and clean house and get ready to go again on Monday. I think I left before 6:00 a.m. and didn’t get home until about 6:30.

100%. It’s even funnier when a woman “becomes” a man and is shortly devastated that they are held to task for their actions and are blown away by how ignored they are.

My old man was a depression kid. Joined the military in the mid 1930s and went into WWII as a professional soldier and was a combat veteran. Then went to work for 35 years as a civilian employee at WPAFB. Following his retirement, he secured a job as night security man at a high $$$ retirement / assisted living facility and worked another 20 years. Now that I am retired, I believe the best thing the old man passed onto me was his work ethic. Hey, Princess? You want something? Work for it! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

My parents were products of the depression, and my dad told stories of standing in line with a voucher to get shoes ( any kind you want as long as they are black lace ups standard issue if you will) My 2 siblings and I all had jobs through late high school and college, and paid off our school loans. All did honorable work ( sister in a hospital pharmacy then a second career as a biology teacher, my brother a now retired police detective and myself a physician assistant) and thankfully my brother and sister instilled work ethic in their kids too. ( I don’t have any children) the comment about those productive millennials shouldering the burden for these whiners is unfortunately probably true

I really wanted to say, “You gotta be shitting me.” Sadly, I pretty much expect this nonsense now.

There was a time when college was supposed to prepare you for the work world. In class 8am to 4-5pm, maybe a few night classes. Studying 2hrs for every hour in class. On top of that I worked two jobs through school so for me, a single full time joh 8-5 was a break. There were a LOT of days when I was in college where I would be in class from 0800-1500, have to run home change and be at work from 1700-2100, then go on duty for the FD and be on from 2100-0600 and likely go out 2-3 times that night on calls. Some days I would be in class from 0900-1200 and then work from 1500-2100 then go on duty, or if off duty I had real time to study. I still dated and had friends. Man, what a crybaby... "oh my god I don't get home until 615 and I have no time or energy to do anything!" Really? Now that I am done rolling on the floor laughing and screaming at the computer "GET A LIFE" I realize she says she is getting her period. So does that mean all is forgiven? I can't wait to hear her in 30 years when menopause hits I know so many kids in her generation and I am amazed that they are either what I consider "spoiled" like this girl and have absolutely no drive or clue (in my opinion) and they complain about everything, and not having enough money but don't work over time or have a second job to get themselves ahead; or I am blown away by their integrity, strong work ethic and drive to better themselves and do whatever it takes to accomplish what they want. There doesn't seem to be any in between. Bonnie

Those jobs exist. They are called “salaried.”

I’m confident that the same attitudes have been around since the first caveman slept in when the others were hunting and gathering, there just wasn’t any social media to amplify it.
