Queen classic 'Fat Bottomed Girls' dropped from band's greatest hits collection for younger audiences

The song praises big gals. There's no pleasing you insipid, life-sucking scolds.

Joyless motherfuckers.

For the rest of us, turn it up and rock.

A simple love song (with a driving beat).

It's time to change the CD in my old car.

Lizzo would be so flattered to have this sung to her...then again, she probably thinks Freddie Mercury is a white supremest.

Well then…guess they better remove “Bicycle Race” as they refer to the subjects of this song. Frown

This is beyond stupid…but, hey, leave all the rap that really holds women up. Wink

Oh for God’s sake! I was a “fat-bottomed” curvy girl with a tiny waist when the song was new and adored it for precisely that reason. Same reason I loved Van Morrison’s Brown-Eyed girl - all the songs of the era were about blue eyes and blond hair. Jeez….utter stupidity. They don’t even understand the song, or that teenage boys (and much older men) were drooling over this fat-bottomed brown-eyed girl.

So, the "reason" for this is because of kids?

quote:
Yoto called the album the "ideal introduction to the music of Queen for young music lovers" on its webpage, continuing with a note warning parents that some of the band's music contains adult themes, including "occasional references to violence and drugs."

And yet these same people likely support the idea of trans grooming kids in elementary school, teaching about gay sex and blow jobs, etc.

No, it is probably about misplaced “body positivity” and that calling anyone fat is ugly. Except that is not what it means. What it means is curvy girls that ain’t built like boys with boobs. I was a “fat-bottomed” girl when iI was 5’3” tall and weighed 115.

I play Queen tunes at every single band gig soundcheck. No one ever does this and everyone loves those songs. You can't go wrong with any Queen tune. We used to play Fat Bottomed Girls and the crowds loved it. I guess I need to brush up on it, as I have a gig coming up. Every kid should have to learn how to play and sing Queen tunes.
