Our ten year old built in GE microwave finally quit. Replaced it with new GE unit. Old unit had a keypad for setting times. This was has a dial. So far, I am unable to set specific cook times. It wants to only cook in 15 second increments. I can't set it to 25 seconds, I have to choose 15 or 30 seconds. If I want to cook for 25 seconds, I have to set for 30 seconds and stop it with 5 seconds left on the clock. Manual is no help of course and before calling GE and being on hold for twenty minutes before speaking to "Bob" in New Delhi, thought I would try here.

I haven't seen a dial on a microwave since the 70's. Can't really help you but you might try GE's website and look for technical support.
