Not buying a d-28 or d-35 Martin guitar in the mid 60s when they were still made of Brazilian rosewood.

Taking too long to finish college.

First marriage.

Wasting time.

Not buying Apple stock when it dropped to about $20 per share - before its first split as I vaguely recall.

Choosing to change from "marine option" to "navy" in NROTC. My back-and-forth from navy to marine option and back coupled with a vision anomaly acceptable to the Marines led to my dismissal from a scholarship program.

Money wise the stock market. Back in 2000 our credit union had a "financial advisor" that took us for a ride. We lost in the neighborhood of 25k.

Accepting my buddy Mike’s bet that I couldn’t make my way from one room in my house to the kitchen without touching the floor, at age 14.

I fell off the oven in the kitchen and snapped my ACL in two. Four surgeries and 37 years later, my dreams of joining the military crushed forever, I’m staring at a knee replacement. I have an altered gait, constant pain, and an inability to stand for more than an hour.

I’d sure like to have that one back.

An old person has had his nose rubbed in changes and more changes and still more changes so many times that that he knows it is a moving picture, forever changing. He may not like it--probably doesn't; I don't--but he knows it's so, and knowing is the first step in coping with it."

In my youth, and young lady and I consumed a quantity of Crown Royal and became intimate. During the second or third go-round (I was VERY young) we looked for a lubricant and all we could find was Ben-Gay ointment.

That was a truly bad decision. 45 years on, I still recall it with clarity.

Not having sex with a very inebriated young lady I had just started dating.

It was both the worst and best decison I've ever made.

If I look at decisions adding up to where I am today....it's hard to say, I very much like where I am.

Saying that, sometimes I wish I had stayed in the Army, I had the exact job I want with jump school in route for my re-up.

Also I turned down a gig with the Marshals for a better paying gig in telecom.

Like many others here, I wish I had joined the military as it may have taught me the discipline I’ve lacked for most of my life. It might have shown me that not all things come easy and that hard work is necessary for anything that is truly worthwhile. I’m still trying to come to terms with the fact that natural intelligence is no match for dedication and effort.

Worst decision in my life. 6 year marriage to a women who's brothers even said she was crazy.

A close second worst decision: living in New Jersey for two years.
