Ideally you would take a picture with the exact desired composition, cropping should be used as a last resort.

Around 2:05, when she turns the phone around in the guys hands, an issue with landscape mode becomes clear.
His fingers are covering the camera lens. Smile

Edited to add smiley

And? It's possible to hold a phone in portrait mode where your finger(s) cover the camera too. But most people don't, because they've learned not to.

Some of ya'll need to lighten up. (Francis.) Wink

Not quite sure why some folks don't get the humor? This wasn't a PSA. Lighten up Francis.

You don't see the humor in her causing the guy to block his camera lens then knee capping him.?
I'll add a smiley to my original post to avoid further confusion.

I think we are talking about the same thing. I crop in the camera when I compose a picture.

I was at Acadia National Park a few weeks ago, a place that I'd visited 30 years ago this month with my starter wife.

Back then, there was nobody around us for miles. We camped out, had a great time, and didn't see anyone else for three days.

This time? Hundreds, if not thousands, of people everywhere, taking pictures of every leaf, stump, tree, mushroom, rock, shrub ... you name it. It was unbelievable and sad at the same time.

Funny thing is, I have more pictures in my memory from my first trip there in October of 1988 than any physical pictures I might have in the 30 years since.

It's crazy. I just don't get this obsession.

Wow. Issues, issues. Yes, cell phones are the bane of our existence, and society will come crashing down as a result. Except for twice I week when I get short vids of my grandkids living across the country.

You got that right. On tours the very worst are the Asians--they are everywhere taking selfies and blocking anyone else's view.
