PSA:

Caution in looking at any directional tread tires in your search!
I have never had a good experience with them on my Subarus. Front-to-back only rotation led to vibration and wear problems for me - regular tread/criss-cross on rotation is always fine.

I'm not very impressed with the factory Yokohama Geolandar G91s, which wore out in 2.5 years at 30k miles.

The dealership is recommending Yokohama Avid Touring-S, which reportedly last about twice as long.

What do you guys like for a good all-season tire for a crossover SUV?

My wife's Forrester is unstoppable in the snow, but she only got 36k out of her Geolanders. They are a little soft for a reason. My Outback is on it's second set of Michelin Defenders. The last set went 50k, but were only ok in the snow. The newer Defender is much better in the snow, but will probably only last me 40k.

Put 150,000 on my 2013 Forester 2.5X, and upgraded to 225/60/17’s right after buying. Went with Yokohama AT/S for a do everything meatier looking tire than stock and was thrilled. Replaced set #1 with 94,000 on them and they still had a pinch of life left. Had 50,000 on set #2 when I sold it and they still looked new. Replaced my factory tires on my new Colorado with the new version, the Yokohama G015.

If available in your size.
Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+
We have them on our Flex and they've been fantastic. IIRC, they were a bit under $900 installed for the 20" wheels we have.

My C300 will be getting a set when the awful Continentals wear out.

Costco has $70 off and free installation on Michelins right now and their LTX is on sale, too.

I just bought an awd Toyota Sienna and it came with runflats standard because the rear driveshaft interferes with the spare tire storage. RFs are better than they used to be but I'd feel just as secure with a new set of Michelins and a AAA card as runflats. RFs still have no spare and should you need to buy one in an emergency roadside situation you're apt to be sol.

I have a 2010 Forester and was not impressed with the handling of the oem Yokohama Geolanders. I’m on my second set of Pirelli’s now - much improved handling and still does very well in rain and snow. I’ve had good luck using the Discount Tire chain, good prices and service so far.

After researching both Consumer Reports & Tire Rack, we bought Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires for our 2015 Subaru Outback in April 2018.

Could not find them locally in St. Louis so ordered them from Tire Rack and our local Firestone dealer installed them.

Good tires thus far and we have 8000 miles on them in summer conditions and 2 snows thus far (deepest snow was 6").

Cost per tire was $135 with tax and installation so great price too.

Check them out using Tire Racks tool.

These get good reviews on the Forrester forums, I will be looking at them for the wife's '17XT. While we do no offroading with it the additional grip makes sense.

I had been looking for the best tire for wet grip since it seems we like to flood a couple times a year and they don't believe in drainage locally Roll Eyes but I figure the G015s will be just fine

I’m a Michelin guy myself, but my wife’s sister and her husband were just here visiting from California and they drove over in a Forester. He had just put on a set of BFGs (sorry, didn’t look closely at the particular model). I did notice that they were a good looking tire, further...the day before they left to go back, a 24 hour storm front came through. The roads on Saturday were dangerous as dynamite. They drove west on Sunday over the I-80 Divide between Cheyenne and Laramie, over notorious Elk Mountain and on across Wyoming into Utah—no problem. Winter performance may not be critical to you in Arkansas, but you want them to be at least adequate if you are traveling over the holidays.

Well, I was planning to wait until December to pick up new tires, but life intervened and forced my hand.

Punctured a tire on the way to the in-laws' house for Thanksgiving dinner. Not sure what I hit, but I heard it hissing when we got out of the car upon arrival. Got to swap in the spare after dinner.

Made an appointment online for tomorrow at 12:30 to get a set of Michelin Defender T+Hs installed at a local Discount Tire shop. Their price was competitive with TireRack + local tire shop install, they're available tomorrow, plus they're running a Black Friday deal for a 10% rebate on top of the manufacturer's $70 rebate.
