Had an ancient Wahl set, it finally died.

Replaced it with a Wahl set off Amazon and got just what I paid for: Junk.

So I'll suck it up and pay for something decent, just need to know what.

Timely. I was looking at wahl and Panasonic this morning. Didn't see anything compelling to buy yet.

I am still using the Osters I used to cut hair back in the sixties.I let my license lapse in 1970
Now days they just cut my poodles hair, occasionally I cut a friends hair but I change blades Big Grin unless I have a senior moment.
I bought these at the ships store in 1960 aboard the USS Saint Paul ca 73.
Blades are expensive but a local company will sharpen for $15 a pop.

Sorry, should've mentioned: People clippers. I have the wife run 'em over my noggin about once a month and clip everything with the shortest guard in the kit.

Same Wahl clippers I've had for ages. I do have a newer set that work just fine and cut well.

I use the Classic Oster 76. It is pricier than many, however, it is also the barber shop standard. Many blade sizes available. You can find it on Amazon.com, of course.

Andis is a little less expensive and uses the same blade sets.

That’s my choice. Its quality is no doubt higher than I need for a buzz cut every 10 days or so, but I’ve never second-guessed my decision.

Me too. I started out with the Andis, but switched to the Oster with a #3½ blade.

I use a Wahl that is probably around 15 yrs old with the #2 comb about every 10-14 days. Works great.

I purchased a Wahl model #8541 the end of April. I've only used them once and they did a fair job, not like the cheaper Wahl set I also have.

I use a Wahl Professional Peanut. I did get it from Amazon for $41. In fact, I just cut my hair with it, gets cut every two weeks. Keep in mind that my wife is a former cosmetologist and my 2nd daughter is now. She bought an expensive pair of clippers for me a few years ago and the peanut cuts better. I use the shortest guard for my beard and no guard for my hair.

I've burned thru two pair of Wahl clippers int he last 18 years...

I got my kid (cosmotoligist) to buy me a Oster 76 last year and I expect them to last the rest of my life.....and I use them to cut the little one's hair too...

so for $100 cost, i figure after 5 cuts-they have payed for themselves....
