largebore1Our family got hit with Covid
I don't trust the home tests 100% either but it's all I had for a test.I have been trying to for months to get a PCR test that goes to a lab but whenever I'm home they never had an appointment available when I was home.
I don't care what anyone says about masks or the vaccine or their opinion about how you get covid just more idiots who think their opinion means something and let me assure you it does'nt

A long time ago, I was being a twat on SIGforum. BigJoe called me out on it. I took it to heart and tried to change immediately. I consider BigJoe a friend and thank him for helping me to become a better person and member here. It’s now my time to pass on that same advice. old rugged cross, I feel that I must inform you that you’re being a twat. Please take this in the spirit intended and maybe you can be a kinder member and maybe even a better person.

mark123An interesting aside to my experience. Normally, I make 3 pots of coffee every day. The first pot is split between my wife’s work mug (I think it’s 32 oz), her first cup, Marky’s one cup per day and my first cup. The other two are exclusively mine throughout the day. However, I haven’t wanted any since Feb 4 and I’ve gone cold Turkey. Even feeling a bit better, I really don’t want coffee at all. Maybe I’ll just go with it and quit. Maybe it’ll help with my sleep issues. It’s not working for that yet as you can see that I’m posting at 3am.

Your truth, old rugged something. Don't make it personal by name calling. Dense? Nope.

I quit years ago while having some problems w/ anxiety, GERDs, and a kidney stone. According to my intranets research, it can take a month or two or more for your body to detox.
I'm not suggesting you quit coffee for good but if you are taking a break, give it plenty of time to notice a difference.

CopefreeI’m on day 4, wife is on day 5.
Still just really tired / fatigued / lightheaded. Also, really congested. Sore throat is subsiding a bit .. as are the full body aches.
5 year old son is also on day 4 but we’re not counting him because you wouldn’t even know it .. still acting like he’s shot out of a cannon every morning. Just has a slight cough.
6 year old daughter never caught it.

WrecklessI thought I was immune to it but finally got tagged on Tuesday night. I had a tickle in my throat and felt off. Also felt chilled at night and couldn’t get warm, woke up Wednesday sick as a dog with a low grade fever, body aches, headache, and sore throat. Took a rapid test and popped positive. Fever shot up to 104 and my O2 level dropped to 93% while my pulse rate went up to 121. I was taking Vitamin C and D and then self administered my horse paste. That night my vitals moderated and I felt pretty good the next day. No fever, no aches, just tired and a little cough. Today I’m feeling about 90% better with some sinus congestion and a cough. Natural immunity here I come.

mark123I started taking a few swigs of tonic water for the quinine. I probably started way too late. I feel a little better and then I don’t. I wish I’d have thought of it sooner. I add zinc and doxycycline to the mix.
The quinine makes my pee smell like the rubber bungee strap bin at Harbor Freight.

adorAll of us are now Negative on the PCR tests. However, I still have this lingering cough. O2 sat has been in the upper 90s. I had a doc appointment yesterday for other things. He ordered chest xray just to make sure my lungs are OK.
Stay safe everyone. I don't think it is that bad now. But each individual will react differently from this virus.

How many days did it last? I’m really having a rough time with not being able to sleep or eat.

White PhosphorusI think I had covid early in 2020. It was like a combination of food poisoning and the flu. It was unlike anything I've encountered in my lifetime so it probably was covid.
My voodoo treatment is to soak my feet and calves in a 50/50 solution of distilled white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes per day. I never get sick when doing this. I was "off the wagon" when I got hit in 2020.

mark123I’ve lost 11 pounds in as many days. No wonder I feel so drained of energy.
February 12, 2022, 09:16 AM
adorI lost about 10 pounds in a week. No appetite. Some people said they lost their sense of taste. Mine was different. Everything tasted very salty. I felt weak for days and get shortness of breath easily. I feel much better now, except for the cough. I have read this is normal. But having a chest xray done in few days to be sure lungs are OK. Hope you feel better soon Mark. Try to do some slow, deep breathing exercise. Need to keep the lungs working the best it can.

Mark, I had insomnia and restless leg syndrome. It was wildly unsettling. Are you getting outside at all? Fresh air and more importantly sunshine will absolutely help. My mistake was quarantining myself in the basement for 12 days. Totally threw me off.

JDHunzHappy to report that after about 4-5 days, I’m feeling a ton better. Appetite is back, no fever, no real body aches aside from my usual ones and throat doesn’t hurt anymore.
Finally slept through the night and actually woke up early because my body said, “hey, time to get up.”
Hope everyone feels better and back on your feet sooner than later!

mark123Today was a pretty good day. I napped a lot and tried to get around. Cough is fading. Mucous is clearing up. Still get really tired and am slow doing things like taking out the trash but I'm definitely improving.

I think todays terrible feeling was that the caffeine withdrawal finally hit me. I made myself a couple cups and took an Excedrin (with caffeine). Then I laid down and really started feeling better almost immediately.

Did the chest X-rays turn out ok?
