Men. Buying heels. To feel empowered.

Holy cats, there must be some fine, fine drugs floating around the Garment District. The last guy who could even vaguely pull that off was David Bowie back in the Ziggy Stardust days - and that was supposed to be a parody!

Now I'll be singing that damn thing in my head for the rest of the day.

Put me down for a hard pass. I probably wouldn't find anything sexy in a size 14 anyway.

I always liked listening to that piece and avoided explanations of the meaning of the lyrics.

^^^^ Don't worry too much about it. The most common explanation I have heard is this one:

The song is about drug culture and the relationships between users and suppliers. Low spark is injection, and high heeled boy is speedball, a mixture of cocaine and heroin.

I wouldn't wear those if all my other shoes were on fire and I lost bet.

Can't say that I'd want the Crocs either.

I am comforted by the fact I had never seen those until I clicked the link. I don't know where people are wearing those but it's not around where I am.

Damn the dictates of fashion! I will never surrender my Crocs. I even have fuzzy winter Crocs. And I dont envision stiletto Crocs anytime soon.

You don't know anyone who dresses like that. No one here knows anyone who dresses like that. They dress like that at pretentious fashion shows and Hollywood parties.

They're trying to convnce you that this is a fashion trend. It's not. It's just more of the same emasculating horse shit from a small group of people. It's propaganda, intended to normalize abnormal behavior. Just ignore it.

I know one guy that’s not far from it. It was more of a “haha” post anyway.

We called them platform shoes in the 70s.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
