Been watching a few innings in the last few days. Nice to see the boys of summer back. The sixty game season starts Thursday.

Some live action in real time is a move in the right direction.

Seem's some fans. Maybe 1/4 to 1/3 capacity would be doable. But this thread in not about the viurs or some of the idiot players. Just about having some live baseball action this summer. Just glad they were able to work it out.

Looking forward to seeing some of the Mariners young talent getting some live action in.

Sat in the living room for about 2 hours tonight watching the Rangers and the Rockies with my teenage boys. Since all of this crap started the older one would typically be in his room talking to his girlfriend or they are both in the media room playing video games. Not tonight, we watched exhibition baseball and talked about baseball and ate ice cream and laughed and cut up. We critiqued pitchers and scolded batters and second guessed umpires and all was right with the world for a little while.

That is great to hear TXjim, my dad is 85 and we do the same thing. Usually over the phone. But in person too when we can. I have missed that with him.

That's great. I've done the same with my dad over the years.

I watched some the Rockies game, too. I admit that I did miss the crowd noise, but I'm happy baseball is back.

I am excited for it to finally be here, even in this diminished format. My boys will be glad, too, just upset that we won't be able to actually go to any games. We live just a few miles from the Braves stadium and usually go to 8-10 games a year.

Yeah.... I wish it would get back to 'normal' too. I'd love to go to a game.
It's going to be a quick season. 60 games in like 66 days.

I have watched the two games between Baltimore and Nats. It is really good to watch baseball again, I swear in the 9th they started playing crowd noise.

I have enjoyed watching a few games and looking forward to the Yankees tomorrow.

If you want to see some future college and MLB stars play up close, the 17uWWBA is going on at East Cobb right now. Some of the best players in the country and its cheap and the access is great.

I've coached quite a few games at East Cobb over the years. God I love that complex. And Perfect Game is a great group to work with. They truly run professional events.

I will miss watching baseball since there won’t be any amateur games. Hopefully, next year.

I am so ready to lock my doors, turn off my phone, and sit and watch my defending World Series champs take on the Yankees tomorrow. Don't even THINK of bothering me once "Play ball" has been announced.

OK a question. When I posted my disappointment with the cancellation of college football I got a lot of negative blowback. Do Forum members just love MLB? I enjoyed it as a kid and played until I was 18. I lost interest over the years, but each to his own. Why the love for baseball? These guys make millions, take steroids etc. I do not see a lot of difference.

OK I remember Roger Maris vs Mickey Mantle. Ernie Banks etc. I could post here about my college football team winning the National Championship, but there seems to be little love for college football on this Forum. How come? I do not hate MLB, I just dont follow it anymore.

ZSM, Please do not turn this thread in another I hate pro sports thread.

This is about the return of something that many or us are excited to see and will be a good distraction for many.

Thanks for the reminder. I stopped by Wheeler HS this evening and watched a couple of innings. Some really solid baseball. Might try to take the family tomorrow but the last game is scheduled to start at 5. I'd imagine by the end of the day they will be at least an hour behind though.

This is a generality but I don't think it is unfair: many people on the forum dislike pro sports, probably proportionally more than you would expect from a forum made up of 99% men. Para is fairly clear about not liking sports, at least high levels (college and pro) and I think that emboldens the viewpoint. Obviously, its his forum. Thankfully, he doesn't step into sports threads and crap on them and lets us have our fun.

Fwiw, I love baseball and college football and golf and college basketball and I even like watching the NFL though I don't have much of a rooting interest.
