We've moved the easily moved valuables, but we can't move everything before the tenting.
I'm thinking air mattress in the minivan, Mossberg 590A1, P226, Fenix LR35R, and a cooler full of Diet Mountain Dew.
I'm thinking of pitching a tent in the backyard as a deterent/decoy, rearranging the interior security cameras to cover the ground floor points of entry, and setting the alarm system for motion sensors only. Alternatively, maybe I can get my 20 year old son to come down from college for the weekend and he could cover the back while I cover the front.
What else should I be thinking about?
How long does the tenting go on until completion?

jimmy123xIf anyone enters while the tent is on, they'll be deader than a doornail real quick, unless they're an exterminator with the gear. I wouldn't worry about it. They leave the windows cracked an inch or two, not wide open.

My very first thought, but I was going to suggest empty Gatorade bottles!!
I thought of that, too, but it reminded me of a stakeout I was on years ago with a couple cops and figured I'd sanitize it a bit!

They said three days.
Day 1: Setup the tent and let the gas rip for 16 hours.
Day 2: After the 16 hours, they take the tent down and air the house out.
Day 3: We get back in once the gas gets to an acceptable level.
We have a lot of windows and sliding glass doors, I’m thinking the airing out won’t take much time, but they probably aren’t going to be monitoring it overnight.
Day 1: Some “neighbors” stopped by to case the joint. Not really, the one was actually our next door neighbor and the other was a couple with their teenage daughter who were at the other next door neighbor’s house looking at the neighbor’s new dock with the dock guy that built it.
Night 1: We had a fairly good storm roll through that blew the tent around enough to set off the motion detection on two of the outside cameras. They left a light on in the garage, but nothing else of interest occurred.
Day 2: I just got the text, 8:30am, the crew is headed over to take the tent down.

Gatorade bottles do have a place, but over the course of 48 hours you would likely have to “ take a sat” at some point if you get my drift

Calif PhilA call in to your local police or sheriff department and ask for extra patrol would be a good idea.

trapper189Still day 2:
They are done taking the tent down and I just talked to the guy for the first time. He explained it to me completely different than what my wife said he said.

They are not leaving all the windows and doors open all night tonight for the airing out. They did take the batteries out of our electronic locks so we can’t just use the code. I had our motion sensors set to send me notifications while the alarm was off and they all worked while the guy was inside the house with his SCBA gear on. SCBA is SCUBA without the U.
Nobody mentioned not falling for a banana in the tailpipe.
