I’ve been tempted to get one of those twin magazine shotguns by Keltec. I think it’s the KSG-25 You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

This, a shotgun is far more versatile I think and don't have to worry as much about overpenetration if you use the right shells in it. Can use slugs for the 75 yard aspect.

Isn't a "doomsday weapon" one that causes doomsday? Like a WMD. Maybe call it a SHTF weapon instead? Or perhaps your cousin has a more sinister plan in mind...

My other Sig is a Steyr. |
A Kriss Vector in 10mm would be my first suggestion. The first version will allow him to flush mount a light in the chassis. The more recent models do not.

Quality DI AR15 or Ruger Mini-14 l2 gauge Versa Max V3 or Tactical or Benelli M2 Ruger 10/22 Glock 19 This covers every situation. I don't believe one size fits all so to speak. I think he’d be better off getting a pistol, a rifle, and a shotgun...it’s nice to have options depending on the Doomsday.

I agree with this 100%. Load up a 12 gage with any buckshot from #4 to 00 and a hit to the center of mass will result in someone ded before they hit the floor. Note, it won't be effective against body armor for wounding but it will hurt enough that the opponent will need at least a minute of two to recover from the blow. During that recovery time a follow up shot to the un-armored head will provide a stop. I will also note that a 12 gage slug has proven to be accurate enough out to 50 yards to be very effective. BTW, a 2 3/4 inch, 1 ounce slug load will be moving between 1200 and 1300 fps which is plenty for putting down something the size of a Deer. So no need to beat your shoulder into a sack of bones with the 3 and 3 1/2 inch magnums. I've stopped counting.

I hear what you are saying. However, if he is asking for advice, he may not be particularly familiar with firearms. If that is the case, I’d suggest choosing one of the above, and training and practicing enough to master it before choosing a second and doing the same with it. I’d argue that he is better off being proficient with any one of the above than having all of them and being proficient with none of them. YMMV...
