Blume9mmFun trip to the range…but I broke my Glock…FIXED, update in OP
For those that can't read all the way through the OP's first post with the solution added at the bottom:
quote:
Update: Buddy got it apart and determined the barrel was bulged 0.008 of an inch (I think that’s the right decimal spot). Just enough that the slide was binding up.
So it was a squib. Looking back, I do remember hearing a distinctly different sound when my son was shooting it, but it was an active range and the other rounds being fired masked it. Next round pushed the bullet out but damaged the barrel.
A new barrel installed and good to go! Also had him install my new sights while he was at it.

ZSMICHAELWell thank you. I expected the solution at the END when he stated problem solved.

chongosuerteSorry, I usually put updates in the original post because the "end" changes quickly when people start commenting.
Either way, a Glock factory barrel is freaking EXPENSIVE these days!

92fstechGlad you figured it out and that nothing worse happened when you had your squib. I'm curious, do you know how your buddy got the gun apart?
