It's very simple . If you accept reparations then you must immigrate back to your homeland .

That idea has absolutely no chance of congressional approval.

I am curious. If any form of reparations are to be paid, will there be deductions for the favorable results minorities have enjoyed from all the affirmative action legislation over many years? In my limited experience, I have witnessed many circumstances that have produced an unfair advantage for many minorities in government contract purchasing environments.

The more I read of nonsense like this, the more it calls to mind the "Intolerable Acts" the Brits forced on the Colonists that helped pave the way for the American Revolution.
Except our oppressors will be local.

In this era of self-imposing identity, I'd like publicly claim that I am a black female of African-American decent.

I renounce my European roots and have joined the Democrat Party.

That should take care of it, right?

Well... I'm a gay black female of Caucasian European Dutch ancestry so I get more money than you.

We can all see the absurdity of reparations and the direction in which it will go.

There is really zero chance of reparations ever becoming a reality , the politicians just use the dialogue to gain favor with a certain demographic .

Like lots of other fellas on the great Sigforum, I should get reparations for all the times I was passed over for promotion the last 32 years for being a white male with consistently excellent to impeccable performance reviews. The way to get promoted was to leave the company even though I really wanted to stay. It's happening where I work now but it's not a problem for me personally because I'm done with advancement in my career. But I feel bad for younger well qualified white men who are being passed over right now for the same reasons I was passed over then. Fortunately the company still hires good people, but they cannot be consistently hiring the best of the best, which becomes statistically obvious when you hire by race and gender first and then by credentials, instead of by credentials alone. It's just plain old common sense, which these days unfortunately doesn't pass pc muster.

Slavery ended in the 1860s

Oh I don't know. I mean, every payday I see a big chunk of the first fruits of my labor taken from me to be given to someone else who sits on the couch smoking blunts and playing X-Box all day. Did slavery indeed end?

How about me?

My avonymic ancestor was a transported felon, having sought to throw off the yoke of English tyranny. His condition was no different from a slave until he arrived in America, where he was set free.

Let's earmark 10 billion dollars for reparations.

The payout can be structured: one dollar a year, for the next ten billion years.
