I thought I had saved the video with instructions on how to do this but can’t find it. Fella had rigged his iPad so that when he turned on the vehicle his iPad that was connected to vehicle power would turn on and when he shut off the vehicle the iPad would turn off. Anyone no how to do this? Been google searching but not been able to locate anything on how to do this. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Need just to find that source that is "If ENG running/hot THEN on" Some trucks I've had the 12v "Cigarette" plug had that with one that was a constant hot as long as the battery had juice with the other only hot as long as the truck was "On" or running. ~------------------------------~ "Other Duties as Assigned"

No Toyota power ports stay on after the engine shuts off. The iPad will still stay on if you turn the vehicle off that is until the iPad battery dies. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I found this. It won't turn the Ipad off, but would essentially be off and shouldn't' drain the battery too quickly. It's an old video so it might not even still be available.

You can use an automation shortcut to power down when removed from the charger. Plug it in to power port that goes dead when ignition is turned off. I can't seem to find a shortcut option that will allow it to turn on though when plugged in. Makes sense as it is off once it powers down and would need to be manually turned on with power button. Similar but what I saw there was no need to jailbreak it.
This is likely what it was just need to learn how to fancy stuff like that. Would I be able to set it up to open a specific app immediate after being powered on. Granted seems like powering on is going to need to be done manually. If I could just hit the power button and goes straight to the line app I use the device for would be nice. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. There is a feature on the iPad called "Guided Access" that will start a specific app when turned on. Random link to general instructions. https://www.solveyourtech.com/...-step-by-step-guide/ I use this on an iPad near my front door as a monitor for my Arlo camera. It is plugged into an outlet near the door.

By default iOS devices turn off when they get power to the charger port, so switching on the ignition will automatically power in the iPad if it remains plugged into the 12vdc port that comes alive with the ignition.
