I actually saw a plunger testing/rating article or YT video years ago and this one won out above the rest, so I've been using them ever since.

They just don't fit in normal hinged-style plunger holders like some folks might have sitting next to the toilet, if that's a concern.

The Korky Beehive is the answer.

This is it, the answer. Works on older and newer high efficiency toilets, conforms easily to different shaped bowl bottoms to make a solid seal, and that beehive bulge fills with water as you submerge it to blast the clog. T-shaped handle also gives better leverage than older “baseball bat’ style grip. Great tool.

Back in my previous life as a fireman, a coworker relayed his story of clogged toilets.
The coworker, (I’ll call John cuz that was his name), didn’t have any success with the plunger. He thinks a bit and states that he’ll fix this problem for good!
Off to Home Depot to rent a powered snake.

He returns and sets up a ladder to access the vent pipe on the roof. He starts feeding the snake confidently knowing this will be the answer to his problems.
He’s interrupted by his wife shrieking and yelling to STOP STOP STOP!!
Turns out the snake came up out of the toilet and acted like a demon possessed.
As he fed in more it started spinning wildly bashing drywall and counter tile until it grabbed the bath towels and started using that extra weight for even more wanton destruction.

We stopped laughing about an hour later. Big Grin

We have a beehive type plunger.
