We are not amused. So spaketh the King

Kerry erupts after his private jet use is mocked in House hearing, denies ever owning one
quote:
"We don't own a private jet."
Oh, doon'tit we?? Razz

Kerry refuses to identify climate staff by name under questioning from GOP: ‘You’re not going to answer?’
quote:
"No. I'm going to answer it through the process."
Mayhaps, Your Majesty- mightn't the "process" be found up your own arse? Shall we summon thine Royal Surgeon to explore? Razz

It seems a lot of people lately are getting hauled into hearings and simply (and smugly) answering with something to the effect of, "I'm not going to participate."

Isn't "participation" sort of the reason people are compelled to attend hearings in the first place?

Mad

ETA: this includes things like, "Kerry's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

God bless America.

I still can’t get over how this clown asked for mustard and Swiss cheese on his cheesesteak while stopping in Philly in 2004 on the campaign trail.

He’s lucky he was a Democrat, in a deep blue city or else this may have been his fate:

The way I see it, it's quite simple. Under the premise of the uni-party, everyone gets their 5 minutes of fame and soundbites for their campaign ads by asking whatever predetermined questions they have. Then, you get the typical response "I'm not able to comment in this forum, I'm not going to participate, answering in this forum would reveal confidential sources and compromise ongoing investigations.... ad nauseam...

There are two enforcement mechanisms with checks and balances:

You either be held in "contempt of congress", whatever that means.

or

The power of the purse. i.e. cut off funding.

And all of them are smart enough to know that neither one of those mechanisms will ever be pursued.

Kerry which is not his true last name, was lower middle-class guy in law school, he slept on a friend's couch throughout and when he got his first job as a Middlesex assistant District Attorney. The slug kept marrying up, first wife was wealthy, but then he hit the mail order husband jackpot with Theresa. The Heinz fortune, he's been a fraud since he was Lt. Governor.

Lots of wealthy individuals don't own private jets. But they do own corporations set up specifically to own private jets so as to shield their personal finances from liability. Those corporations frequently rent out the jets under any number of schemes as charter flights.

Even if this douche does not have any kind of ownership in aircraft, he certainly makes frequent use of private jets.

Merry has always been a douchebag with an over inflated opinion of himself. He’s a fraud who married money. He’s never done anything worthwhile.

Except maybe those 3 Purple Hearts he got in Vietnam. I can’t even say that with a straight face.

His other weasel way is that his wife owned the jet, not him.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

As if it was OK because the peasants will never notice, and then, AAAAAAH, THE PEASANTS NOTICED!!!

And then, it's the peasants will never figure out our shell game, but now, AAAAAAH, THE PEASANTS FIGURED OUT OUR SHELL GAME!!!

Can you imagine the hissy fit Lurch would have thrown if he had been disrespected by a witness in this manner when they were before his Senate Foreign Relations Committee?

Kerry objecting to the Vietnam war made a big media splash by throwing his medals over the fence at the White House. Years later admits he didn't throw his medals away, just some cheap copies. Kerry is a phony media jerk. Beyond that he's dangerous promoting America's enemy Iran on their quest to obtain nuclear weapons. Years ago when Kerry was late for an event one of those in attendance "he's often late because he gets stuck in front of a mirror.
