Weatherproof Color Security Camera with Night Vision https://share.google/pwpFGkaBDMOY9JMj9 I've had two of these over a 20 year period and they did everything I needed. But my current cam is dead now and I need another. H.f. lists them on the website but nobody has them and they can't get them. I use it to view the common area in the apt bldg. Garage. Mostly to confirm that the doors are closed. * I don't have a computer,so none of the wifi or blue teeth stuff will work If you know of something similar, great. Thanks in advance for any attention you choose to give this. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bendable, Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. I use amazon “blink” cameras with my iPhone to monitor my garage and carports. It’s got to have wi-fi though. Maybe a baby monitor would work for you? I don’t have a computer.

I have 11 Blink cameras, 8 outside around the house and back yard, 1 in the garage, 1 in the gun closet with the ammo and safes, and one aimed at the back door. The 3 inside are connected to AC power and the 8 outside use batteries. I get about 2 years out of the batteries.

I use Wyze cameras inside the house in our children's rooms rather than baby monitors and they work really well. No PC needed to set up, you just need their smartphone app and a Wi-Fi connection and somewhere you can power the camera with a power adapter. You can just have the feed go to your phone in real time only or you can subscribe and have the ability to do playback. We just use it for real time. They do have a battery model now too and new one that actually powers off of a lightbulb: All their regular outdoor rated cameras that needs a 120V outlet nearby: Wired, Outdoor Rated The battery powered model: Wyze Battery Cam Pro The new lightbulb socket powered one: Wyze Bulb Cam

I am looking at the baby monitors ,most are priced pretty good. I wish I could plug them in , instead of batteries. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

I don’t think any baby monitor type camera is going to be outdoor rated though, if it gets wet it may stop working.

I too really like Wyze cameras. They have a pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ)camera for $60. They also have a camera you simply screws into into a light bulb and it has a 160 degree view but you can’t remotely pan the camera. All of their cameras will accept a 256GB microSD card, which will get you 30 days of 24/7 recording. You can also receive alerts. By recording to the SD card, you do not need to pay for any subscription. You view and download video via their app. I have several of the PTZ cameras around the outside of my house, their wired doorbell camera, their lightbulb camera, and as of this weekend I replaced a floodlight with their floodlight camera for my backyard. The floodlight camera is brighter than my previous floodlight and now I am recording video and audio. Here is a view of the light bulb camera I just replaced my outdoor garage light fixture bulb with. NRA Benefactor Life Member

The WYZE PTZ Camera is only $60 and the Light Bulb camera is only $50. Then an extra $20 for the 256GB microSD card. You can’t beat that price for the length of recording time, the quality of video, and audio with no subscription. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Just put a 256GB microSD card in it and you can constantly record and playback from the app WITHOUT the subscription. NRA Benefactor Life Member

I really don't require recording options. I will turn it on for a minute to confirm the garage doors are closed and turn it off . Three or four times a day Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

I have a few different cameras; an Eve on the front of the house, a Symenelec light bulb camera at shop doorm and an Aqara in-home. They all have night vision. The Symenelec doesn't have great resolution, but good enough to ID someone. It has a proprietary app that's easy to use, and will push notifications to my phone. It was inexpensive, and has been up for over a year in Texas summers, flood rains, and ice. It has an SD card slot. P.S.-I got an e-mail from them and they said they'd comp me a free camera or a year of storage for a five-star review, so maybe they offer it for everybody (I didn't accept the offer, but think they're good enough to recommend). The Eve is fantastic. It's mainly intended for Apple Homekit, so not sure of other platforms. It does require a hub of sorts (Apple TV or whatever their speaker is called). It pushes notifications and pictures to your phone, and has the ability to configure the area monitored, plus actions like turning off lights via geofencing, discriminating for people/vehicles/animals, and ignoring any of them. Pics go to your phone and can be uploaded to cloud; no need for subscription monitoring or photo archiving. Package notification, too. It's somewhat expensive. Aqara camera can go through their app or Apple Homekit, and also has lots of activity settings and push notifications. It uses an SD card or an optional monitoring service. Inexpensive and despite the potential configuration options, it's pretty simple. Anyway, two of them were ~$30.00, and the Eve was ~$250. At their price points, they're all worth it.

Well then just get the $50 lightbulb camera and you can log in from anywhere in the world and see live. Installation will take 5 minutes. NRA Benefactor Life Member

I love all of you guys. You are awesome. I am behind the times and I need to install security cameras at my house. The options I received from my security company were really expensive. They also suggested that I look at Costco cameras, and they would install for me, and charge me labor only. I've looked briefly, but I really wanted some other recommendations- I knew that I could get great advice here. Thank you!!! .

This may not help bendable, but maybe TigerDore: I like the Wyze cameras a lot. We've installed a few around a residence, and put several in place at work to watch/monitor machines overnight. They're pretty easy to set up, and any of us can check in on one at any time. The alerting function is great -- you can get an alert on your phone or tablet when motion is detected (person, pet, car, etc), and you can narrow down the detection zone so as to watch a particular area of the field of view. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Assuming you have some type of cable run from the camera to the tv, what kind of cable is it? I think you can get any analog camera and add a BNC to RCA adapter to get the video feed over RCA. You don't need a computer to use a wifi cam, your phone is all you need. If you have a decent wifi signal in the garage a Wyze cam is probably the cheapest and easiest route and they're pretty decent cameras.

Depending on how deep you want to go, Reolink, Ring, and Wyze are what I have in different places. My new house was prewired for POE cameras in 3 locations so I put Reolink cams in those 3 and a Reolink wifi cam on the side that wasn't wired. Those all go to a Reolink NVR and I'm very happy with them. I have a Ring doorbell and a Ring floodlight cam in the back of the house that lights things up when taking the dogs out at night and a couple Ring cams in the house because I had them. A couple Wyze cams just because they're cheap and work well. Lifehackster on youtube can keep you busy for a while with cam info.
