This is a fair observation. We actually don't have a fenced in backyard, so it's always walks / leash. While I don't care for the "last walk of the day" duty, he sleeps / is quiet for 10hrs easily, and makes ZERO noise from his crate while I'm up making the kids breakfast in the AM.

The ease of grabbing the poop out of the snow as been nice this winter, because we haven't had any where it's been super deep. Plus the contrast of the poo against the snow means I don't have to use a flashlight / phone to see it.
