Excellent. Letter of disgust sent.

Do---or do not. There is no try.

I found this, but no telling who actually said it first. Great quote, though... https://www.google.com/amp/s/m...le/amp/idUSL1N2PA1V7 |

Publilius Syrus is the first accredited, I think, but I could be wrong. |

| CensuredBut that's really not what is needed, and notice how the deputy mayor soft-soaps it. "Very, very unfortunate" and "people lose their temper." He's an elected public official, genius! You're probably related to this asshole. No citizens showed up at this meeting. That's no surprise. They don't want to end up on youtube in perpetuity. |

Good. quote: Originally posted by wdtv: However, no punishment or penalty went along with censure.
Not good. It's essentially just a slap on the wrist then. Grr.

Dances With Tornados
| This is a good example of what happens when people somehow have immunity from any consequences, or even questions, of their abuse of power.
Power corrupts, absolute power absolutely corrupts etc etc etc, but the real issue is when Power suffers no consequences, at all, none, they are immune to criticism, prosecution, etc.
I'm not phrasing that well, I'm sure someone here could clean up my statement to be more concise clear and eloquent. I'm just a redneck, but I call'em like I see'em. . . |

The censure was basically waving their finger at him. |

| Have any of you read about the context that triggered this confrontation. The complainant REGULARLY double parks and blocks a Traffic Lane because he doesn't want his kid to walk an extra 50 feet. To be blunt the guy complaining he was bullied is one of those assholes who doesn't give a shit about inconveniencing a bunch of other drivers. I will also point out that someday a kid may get hit because this double parking asshole blocked the line of visibility for a child crossing the street while someone was illegally passing this asshole.
I've stopped counting.

| There are good ways and bad ways of dealing with problems. I believe Mayor Tom chose one of the bad ones, and didn't (based on the videos seen) put a single bit of positive effort toward actually solving the perceived problem. Confrontation is a largely emotional event that rarely helps deal with the root cause.

Still doesn't give the mayor the right to pull the "Do you know who I am?" out of his pocket and use it. Best thing the Mayor could have done was call the police to have the guy move his vehicle. |
