Paypal was acquired by eBay, which, in turn spun it off on its own.

Look at eBay and all the gun parts sold, PayPal is the defacto payment system for eBay.

If they are anti 2A, maybe that’s just virtue signaling and tepid at best.

Jeebus, I bought enough gun parts, barrels etc off of eBay to open a gun store over the last 20years. Including Glock complete slide/barrels.

eBay does have its own payment system and they now steer you towards that, but they still accept PP as well. PP and eBay do not have the cozy relationship they once had...

It's more than just 2A issues - Don't forget, PP is also the company who was going to fine users $2500 per incident of spreading "misinformation"... Those pesky TOS... You're allowing a private company direct access to your bank account and funds, and they get to decide if they disagree or not with something you said.
PP walked back on this "error" but just ask Canadian truckers if they believe that for a second...

PP and spreading misinformation

On the rare occasion that I buy something on eBay, I use PayPal.

To answer your bigger question, no, I do not try to boycott all anti-gun companies. It’s not practical, and won’t make a difference.

Now if a gun company does something stupid, sure, make them pay. But I enjoy watching TV and movies, buying groceries and eating out, driving automobiles, etc.

I use it on a limited basis, mainly have always kept it for buying knives. A lot of the knife guys on the larger forum(s) back in the day would only take paypal, so buying nice stuff secondhand it was pretty much the only option.

I've never kept funds in the account. With the amount of institutional capture by the left its almost impossible to work within a sole pro-2A environment, unfortunately.

I have never used PayPal and do not have an account. I love getting emails telling me my Paypal account has been compromised.

I likely never will use it. I don't like the idea of 3rd party payment options. Cash or credit card.

I buy a fair number of knives on BladeForums and buy a very, very few items on ebay. Most of the sellers (I've very rarely sold anything on line) take PP, so I use it. I don't violate their terms if I am aware of them and, so far, have had no trouble. The few times a seller treated me poorly, PP got my $ back pronto.

I realize they don't allow certain things, like firearms, probably less because they are anti-gun and more because they are anti-getting sued. But, regardless of their reasons, it is their business and just as some of you used to say here, Para's house, his rules, the same thing applies to PP-don't like the way they do their business, don't use 'em.

Venmo and PP are the same folks, so it makes no sense to me to use one, but not the other. Zelle looks promising, but I haven't used it enough to know what they think about guns being purchased using their services.

I have a personal account from when I started my personal ebay account in 2004,

only still use it cause Erie Insurance paid me via Paypal for a claim, and I still have funds left,

I may use it once in a while to make a payment, but rarely

had 4 business accounts, I say 4 because the fuckers shut 3 of them down cause they did not like what I sold on ebay, (well the first got nipped due to some dumbass paying me for a gunborker item, and did not understand what discreet was)
the 4th was kilt by ebay when they went to managed pay

PP isn’t my first choice, but sometimes it’s the easiest or only option.

I try to avoid anti-2A businesses, but sometimes it’s unavoidable as sometimes the options are limited by price/availability or other limiting factors. For example, I do not buy Levi’s jeans, but I do shop at Target for a particular flavor of Starbuck’s K-Cups that I can’t seem to find anywhere else. I won’t purchase Benchmade knives, but I have a couple Springfield Armory pistols and would consider buying another if another model was calling me.

I use PP for a couple things, because of the convenience and arguable safety of it. I used Venmo for personal exchanges for a couple years, but lately have been using Zelle. I also just recently signed up for CashApp which I only heard of because of one particular transaction that I had. I honestly have no idea where Zelle or CashApp fall on the 2A spectrum.

In the grand scheme of things, if I had the financial wherewithal to ONLY patronize pro-2A businesses I would; sadly, my reality is that sometimes I have to make some difficult choices between getting what I want at the expense of my personal politics, or doing without an item.

If one has the luxury or conviction to only patronize pro-2A businesses, more power to them! I wish I had that luxury. Wink

If you choose your payment processors based on whether they're "anti-2A" or not, you'll pretty soon find out that you might have to resort to trading with gold nuggets and gemstones, delivered on horsebacks. I don't like it anymore than you do but that's how it is.

So yeah, I will use them, they are especially useful when dealing with a vendor that's overseas or just one that you're not familiar with, if they accept PayPal it in a way is an indication of an legitimate business since their buyer protection program is pretty solid. It also gives a private person the ability to accept a credit card payment.

With that said, for domestic private transactions, these days I prefer Zelle, faster easier and the money goes right into your bank account without going through an intermediary (such as paypal). Frankly I don't understand why there are still people that don't take advantage of this.

I still use it. As recently as 3-4 years ago, and will again if it's the only method of payment. It's only used as a last resort though.

I still have an account but only use it rarely to buy things. The only deposits are small rebates which are paid only via PayPal. The annual total will never exceed $600 so I refuse to give them my SSN despite there occasional demand emails that come to nothing.
