Am so upset that you don’t see me here more often. Grown quiet sick of this shit. No improvement in sight. Published devaluation is nothing compared to street facts.

Cops would say “move on, nothing to watch here!”

Got better chances of getting elected myself.

Oopps. Eek

Why that jibe? You might show some compassion for a member in a ruinous situation not of his making.

No worries, Steve is a long time good friend and can allow himself some liberties Wink

On the other side, i am still awestruck how the Opposition managed to screw things up and unwillingly (or not) pass the hot potato to an odd newcomer. Now they’re negotiating key positions with Milei who still can gather enough friends to fill a poker table.

Truth remains the that the former government LOST the Elections a lot more than Milei actually win them. Ballotage ment we where left with two alternatives, no options.

For now, the ship is still on the same course while we he Captain reads the User Manual and man the
posts. On the positive side, the peso hasn’t plummeted but the markets are “updating” prices up permanently. Unionists keep voicing threats and the Jobless “organizations” are in upheaval. Their leaders are worried because they might lose their powers and income. They used to “manage” the Government free money distribution in exchange of “voluntary contributions “. This will no longer be the way of things.

Historically, Dec. is a troubled months with rioting. Those who can’t make ends meet take rhe streets and sometimes, fueled by political opportunists, start trouble. All orchestrated.
Guess this year we are all neck deep in the same shit and praying no one makes waves.
It all stops around Xmas, when the politicos vanish until the Sumner break is over. Coincidentally, right?

It is EXPENSIVE to be poor. Our income is very low and the majority cant make ends meet. Current economic debacle has halved my worth time and time again so i have no clue where i stand anymore. Or where we go from here.
There are no prices for goods or services. For years ive told you guys that we have 1/8 of your income but pay twice MRSP and get older or neutered products instead of the rest of the world market.
FWIW, just payed over $36 for a TP Link USB BT 4.0 dongle available at Amazon for $9+

^^^^^^Mr. President’s GF is a well known stand up comedian that does impersonations of other celebrities and political figures.

In this picture, he went to watch her show at the nearby coastal city of Mar del Plata.

TV host: I don't like some of the things you say about socialism.

Argentina’s Javier Milei Warns Davos to Abandon Socialism: ‘The West Is in Danger’

Argentine President Javier Milei delivered an address fiercely condemning socialism at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday, rejecting the “radical feminist” and “environmental” agendas fueled by socialism as well.

Milei, a libertarian economist, explained in a roughly 20-minute speech how socialism ultimately leads to poverty, how the state “is not the solution,” but rather “the problem itself,” and how leftism has co-opted Western government institutions to further its agendas. Wednesday’s speech was Milei’s first international address since taking office in December.

“I am here today to tell you that the West is in danger. It is in danger because those who are supposed to uphold the values of the West find themselves co-opted by a worldview that inexorably leads to socialism, and consequently, to poverty,” Milei said in the opening of his speech.

The Argentine president lamented that world leaders have abandoned the ideas of freedom, embracing instead several versions of leftism which he categorized as being versions of the same ideology of “collectivism.”

Without naming specific cases, Milei explained that some had embraced such leftist ideas out of a desire to help others while others had done so to try to “belong” to a privileged caste.”

“We are here to tell you that collectivist experiments are never the solution to the problems that afflict the citizens of the world but, on the contrary, they are their cause,” Milei said. “Believe me, there is no one better than us Argentines to bear witness to these two issues.”

Milei continued by recounting how Argentina, after having become a world power in 1860, had seen itself become impoverished over the past 100 years by embracing collectivist ideas.

The going is getting tough…

Biggest problem, IMO, is that the economic shitwave that is covering us but still growing is the product of too many years of the previous sickening government policies, both economic and social. Can’t be fixed overnight but how the people choose to interpret this is each individual’s choice and determined by their own particular circumstances. Not easy nor simple. Goods and services are adjusting daily their prices at international values while income is stuck at famine level. Most striking legacy of the ones that lost the election.

The talking heads are almost unanimous at condemning the constant price adjustments. 40%, 50%, more.
But they remain silent instead of telling us chickens how or why we got here. Easier to blame everything on the new guy, as if he created this situation by snapping his fingers.

There’s hope things will improve. Patience is harder to find as the previous administration eroded even the strongest fortune. It’s Summer, the quietest period of the year. Come March, end of the Summer break, things will heat up.

Rich country, poor people.

As long as the politicians (large sense) manage to lead the people (out of their necessities) , the corruption will reign.
For now, we managed to free ourselves of the degradation offered and imposed by the pret administrations. We will need more than perseverance and will to come out of this.

^^^ That's a good short video by John Stossel

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

They are really pushing for torch, pitchfork, and rope time if these traitors are using our tax dollars to attack a political rival that is clearly ahead of EVERYONE in the polls.

Locally, they showed the visit of your Finance Secretary (?) and the next day the meeting with Trump. Don’t see how both meetings are not pulling in opposite directions other than saying we’re tight and in line with the US.

Following that, national news, the governor of a southern province announced he won’t follow the central government policies and threatened shutting down oil production. Threat was later specified to start next Wed. He hopes to gather momentum with other Governors/Provinces. According to our Law, the soil belongs to the Provinces, not the National government.

This is going to be interesting, unless the bribe’s machine catches up.
Don’t see this turning violent yet, but i didn’t see Milei winning the elections (actually, the Kirchneristas doing everything in their power to lose them).

National Statistics Office stated that poverty is over 57% of the population. They are professional liars so i believe we are way past that.
School is about to start and many schools dont have enough students, tuition unaffordable. Those about to start/resume have trouble buying materials or even paying for bus fares.

So far he seems to be doing a great job, but the usual suspects won't let him get by forever as success of his policies are a real threat to them everywhere.
