I'm a seasonal guy when it comes to eating, egg nog I'll buy a pint and I'm good. Drink it in small amounts, get too much and things start to get phlegmy. Around here, I'll pick up a bottle from Straus Family Creamery, rich but, not too sweet and without all the additives. May have to try making some homemade after reading a few of these threads...

Obviously, everyone here assumes that it will have alcohol in it. I like eggnog, but don't drink alcohol, so I drink it straight (eggnog, not alcohol).

It is always around somewhere during the holidays. I take a sip to remind me how much I dislike it.

I once got horribly sick on eggnog (with alcohol) as a much younger "man"...to this day I would geyser puke if I even smelled it (same with peach brandy)...I'm almost gagging just thinking about that night kneeling down in the grass while my "friends" were laughing their asses off at my pitiful situation (I would probably do the same) Big Grin

I like eggnog, but if it completely disappeared off store shelves, I might not even notice. I have made it from scratch once, and it was tasty, but not worth the effort.

If it has enough alcohol in it to kill that which seeks to kill me, then gimme some.

I'll lick a turtle's belly if you let it swim in a tub of bourbon first.

My father-in-law loved eggnog....But he's dead now....Coincidence? Perhaps, perhaps not.

I do not partake, but that's because I try to be one of the "good" Type 1 Diabetics. Too much fat, sugar, etc. for me.

My Uncle Bob introduced me to eggnog when we spent a christmas in Arizona when I was probably 8 or 9. It was weird, but okay. I've tried it a few times since then, and never really liked it - especially in recent years. not. good.

Because it’s a Christmas seasonal drink with origins in our American Colonial era.

I’d always thought it came over with the English but what we know as “eggnog” is virtually unknown in the UK from what I read. There is German “Eierlikör” but it’s really not the same thing as what we have and much more alcoholic.

Just give it to me. I swear, I'll never do it again. Ever.

It’s okay in small amounts, too rich to drink more than a few ounces at a time. I like it and I’ll drink it if it’s there, but I wouldn’t go out and buy it.

I had the same experience with eggnog as I did with red beets. Tasted it once as a kid and hated it. Tasted it again 40 years later an thought, "not bad."
