My Israeli engineers are from many different countries. One from Morocco, many from Russia too.
My main engineer now is Ukrainian Israeli.

Is your son an American citizen? If so, any reason he selected not to be an American Paratrooper?

No criticism of your son’s efforts, but I’d feel weird if my son was serving in another

That is very, very cool. Congrats to you and your son.

I watched a documentary, "Under the Helmet" I think it was called, that followed a class through the process of getting their red boots. Impressive stuff.

He was not interested in serving in the military, anywhere, well into college. His substantial efforts to get into Tel Aviv U. as an exchange student Spring semester 2020 got nixed after month in-country due to COVID. He loved living in Israel and admired the fact that pretty much everyone serves a few years in the IDF, so much that he was inspired to serve and become a dual citizen. So, it kind of just happened...

John F. Kennedy was asked if his allegiance to his faith trumped that over his country, as that is a critical question.

My family was kicked out of Spain, as Sepharadim. As mentioned before, I have dual nationality by birth to Latin American immigrants, but the US is my home.

Congrats to your son. During my brief military service, I recall being told many times to never jump out of a perfectly good aircraft!

Awesome stuff, congrats. That must have been a smokewagon march. I remember those days but I don’t think I ever did 55km. The airborne motto here is “All The Way” and it looks like he went all the way indeed. Congrats to you all.

Cheers.

That's just over 34 miles. Eek

Most folks in the US military will never ruck anywhere near that far, especially in one go.
