I am also jealous. I want to get a toy, but trying to pay off the house. One day I hope to post something similar. Congrats!

Good for you.

A friend of mine has one of the older ones, 300hp I believe that year.
His is one of the rarest of all the Mustangs, maybe yours will end up that way.

I had a 70 Dodge Challenger R/T back in 70

Cool. What color did you get?

Joking!

I pondered getting a Shelby GT350 for a few months, but got something more practical instead. I'm a little jealous.

All the performance cars with autos have paddle shifters that are faster than you can shift with a true manual.

Still, a great car, congrats.

True enough for most, but what is the point of that. Your enjoyment is driving the car. We aren't going racing.

Congrats on a sweet ride! Cool

Told myself for a long time I didn't need a Mustang, impractical, etc. etc. Then I decided to go buy me one, anyway. Harley doesn't get ridden nearly as much anymore, nahm sain? Big Grin

Congratulations! Every guy needs a toy from time to time. One suggestion... Leave the electronic Nannies ON until you get a good feel for the power.

Bought a 2017 Camaro SS last year, 450 hp, etc.

Power is available so quickly that the traction control and stabili trac system is real cheap insurance.

Prepare to be AMAZED!

The traction control works. I have a buddy who has a stock automatic 2018 gt and he would turn the stuff off. His 1/8th mile times were in the 9s and 10s. I turned it back on and went a 7.89 at 94mph my first pass ever in one of those cars. It was an automatic car, but it still can help. if you get too agressive the trac control will come on and kill it, but if you dont get too aggressive with the throttle it will help keep it from blowing the tires off on a marginal track.

For decades, I would never even consider an automatic. Even my Mercedes 240D sedan was four speed manual.

Eventually, age, arthritis, and injuries make it difficult to deal with a clutch, so automatic becomes almost a necessity. Fortunately, automatic transmissions have become more efficient and more reliable in recent years.

Given my hip and knee problems, the best of both worlds might have been my 1972 Citroën DS-21. It had a four-speed manual transmission but no clutch pedal -- the clutch was actuated automatically when you shifted gears.

Not my actual car, this is a stock photo:

The last car I had that was anything like this was my '69 Road Runner 40 years ago.

Now I wait for a month or two...

This youtuber just brought home a Bullit and will be posting some informative videos on it. He's a bit nerdy and slightly annoying at times but might be worth viewing while you wait.

It's coming! Ford sent me a note today with the VIN number; it was born on 8/23/18 and is now enroute to the local dealer. I hope it arrives before the first snow...

Trying to decide if I should get a set of cheap wheels and great Nokian Halkkapelita snow tires, or just put it away for the winter. All the rest of our cars/trucks are AWD.

Congrats on getting a VIN. Seeing you have other cars, I would put it away for the winter. Mine's never seen a rain day, much less been out in the snow.

Dealer called me tonight and advised my Bullitt arrived this evening! We'll drive to Missoula tomorrow or Friday and bring the new toy home; more pics this weekend.
