After giving up my county commission seat in 2014 to run for the state house and having spent the past 4 as a township supervisor it looks like I'm headed back to our county commission. Not unexpected as i was unopposed in the Republican primary. Our county went 70% for Trump in 2016 and there is no Dem running. Barring a strong No party affiliation candidate filing in the next couple weeks, come January I will be back representing the citizens of the Fourth District

Even more interesting is that 3 of the 4 incumbents running lost their primaries, Committee assignments will be interesting.

Going to be a busy 2021.

Wait, there are Republicans in Michigan?? Smile

I would bet you actively believe in the US Constitution and America's Founding Principles.

Fantastic! Good to hear.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

...But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory, but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. - Psalm 63:11 [excerpted]

AB,

Is there a congressional seat you can run for? And preferably one held by a Democrat.

Ha. Guilty as charged. I (along with my fellow commissioners) were sued in 2009 for NOT raising taxes. We won at the Michigan Supreme Court.

And yes, I'm a Strict Constructionist.

My guiding principle for appropriations is that every dime we have to spend in government was taken with the backing of men with guns. (because we take your stuff if you don't pay) And therefore we need to be responsible in how we spend every cent.
