I hate to make a covid thread, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this going on like I do. Normal times, I'm good for one or two colds a year, spring & early winter. Feb-March of 2020 I had "original covid", very mild, all in all no big deal. After that I was great, I guess enjoying the healthier work conditions of everyone being careful germs wise, I didn't get my normal two colds a year. It was great through late October 2021? Without testing, I'm guessing I got some strain of Covid again, since I got sick the same time many co-workers did, several of them testing positive. Since then it's been the same thing, minor cold symptoms, sniffles, runny nose and a minor cough caused by those. It will last 3-4 days? Then I'll be good for another 3-4 days. Then it starts over again. This has been a constant for me for over three months now. I'm wondering if this is common and anyone else is dealing with the same thing? I hate to use the despised term but, is this "the new norm"?

I think they call it "Long Covid". It's a thing and you might want to look into it. If it were me, I'd talk to my GP and get anything and everything (ivermectin, antibodies, vitamin, basically the "Joe Rogan Treatment") and run a course of that. I have a cough that is taking it's time in leaving but all my other symptoms are gone thank God. Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

My father has been battling this He says it is nothing serious, just a light or mild cold. More annoying than anything. He will be good for a week or so then it hits again. I have been battling something similar. It seems that for a week I will be perfect: Working, sleeping, eating, training then BAM. It is back. Annoying as crap...

I had the Wuhan Lung (fortunately mostly sinus and nasal) starting on the 10th of Jan. Got over the worst of it in just a few days, but this lingering sinus congestion and cough have been with me for weeks. Like so bad I was waking up coughing every night and would have to take Zyrtec or benedryl or sinus spray to make it stop. Seems like its going away the past few days though but yesterday in the morning I sneezed like 20 times within 15 minutes. --------------------------------------- It's like my brain's a tree and you're those little cookie elves.

Had the wuhan c starting Xmas eve and for about 3 days I was pretty crappy, nothing life threatening but felt exhausted. I will say that I tend to have excessive sneezing anyhow (comes with the job maybe?), but after that time I get intermittent burning in the upper nasal areas followed by watery eyes and sneezing and it's 2-3x more frequent than what it was. Sniffles all day (post sinus drip into my mask in front of clients =/= cool). It pretty well sucks. I've contemplated calling on my doctor to see if maybe an rx of pred nasal spray (Flonase, etc) to see if that helps. Anyone have experience with it? ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. Look up 'Rhinitis'. That symptom is something I used to get after any winter cold. One benefit of the Covid era is I haven't had a cold or the flu since it started. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Sorry to hear that. Your annual blood work can often indicate a systemic inflammatory process. 10,000 units of vitamin D is my after dinner mint.

Fatigue. I got the China virus about this time last year. I don't have the stamina I used to have. Always tired. Sucks

Still lingering cold like symptoms and on going fatigue. Feel like sleeping all the time. Just want this crap over! Breathing also does not seem the same. “I'm fat because everytime I do your girlfriend, she gives me a cookie”.

Two days after I made the original post, I got clobbered with full bore cold symptoms. Lasted a week. After that I was pretty good. Occasional cough bringing up the last of the remnants of that. Then this evening around 8 o'clock, sore throat starts. Swollen glands. Nose starts running. Head feels funny. Temp is 97.7 (where it always is when this starts) Here we go again, right on schedule. I'd say this is getting old, but it did than months ago.

Wait, what? |
The worst thing I suffered was a lingering cough after all other effects had abated. My biggest complaint post-Covid was regaining my condition in the gym. At 56, it was all the more difficult after nearly 3 weeks of the malaise. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I think it’s typical… I had the real flu about 10 years ago. A lot of people say they have the flu…but they really don’t, they have a cold. The real flu puts you in bed for 10 days straight…and sometimes the hospital. Anyway, it took me 3-4 months to recover with symptoms like you describe…on and off, come and go. I think it’s normal for a deep viral infection that’s tenacious like Covid. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag! Might try OTC allergy med. Seemed to stop the cycle for me. I had my patience tested... I'm negative.

I am/have. Doesn’t do much dries out my nose a little but nothing above it. This morning my throat feels like I gargled razor blades. That’s not allergies. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

High concentrated doses of Vitamin C, D and Zinc, in addition to regular multi-vitamin. I'm going to see what Joe Rogan took.

It may be long covid or lasting conditions associated with Covid, but could be something else; a sinus infection, for example. It might be something that a course of antibiotics could tackle. A common thing to get along with covid has been pneumonia. It may be worth talking with your doctor. There's a lot of nasty stuff that can hang on with Covid, but there's a lot that might be mistaken for Covid that might be treatable.

I had what I considered to be mild Covid- bad headcold for a day, but very low fever for a few days. Felt pretty good until day 10- bad headcold for a day only. After that, another 10 days of feeling pretty good, but a lingering cough. It was pneumonia. 10 day antibiotics and steroid course and I was over it. I encourage anyone with a lingering cough to get checked for pneumonia.

More and more information is coming out about the lasting effects of COVID-19. Most recently I’ve read about a study that pointed to the danger to pregnant women and their fetuses and another about effects on mental acuity. Most people who get the disease also recover with no lasting effects (as far as we know now), but there are significant exceptions, and I expect that will become more obvious in the future. ► 6.4/93.6

After second bout with the deadly I’ve lost much of my sense of smell. It’s been 4 months now, getting used to it I suppose. That propane smell? I miss that the most, nothing has caught fire or exploded, but a leak detected largely by sound is a bit scary. ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------
