Looks like you have made a nice cross country road trip out of it.

I'll let you know when the house-warming party is!

Yes, I caught two good rocks in the windshield on this trip. The last one I caught leaving AZ left a 12" crack. Today it's over 2 feet long. Already opened a claim with Traveler's and will be getting a nice OEM windshield next week.

So glad I got out of Portland when I did. I'm sure the crazies will burn, loot and murder this week.

Looking forward to having you guys over for a visit or a meet-n-greet at the range.

Tony.

Check your email. I just sent you a v-card for a very good auto glass guy.

Make an appointment at a Florida Department of Agriculture office (that's the department that issues carry permits).

You'll need the standard proof of citizenship and Florida residence, documentation of completing a firearms safety course (NRA, DD-214, Hunter Safety, etc.), and your checkbook.

They will do the photo, digital fingerprints, and application right there. With an appointment you should be in and out within 45 minutes or so, and your carry permit will arrive in the mail. The statute allows them 90 days, but my wife and I received ours in 11 days.

Also, for Florida Driver License, bring passport and proof of residence. Passport will prove US citizenship, so you'll get the gold star Real ID thingy on the license. If you're a vet, bring proof like DD-214 and you'll get the Veteran indicator on the license.

Give me a shout when you arrive. You won't be that far from the gun club where I shoot. It's members only, I will be glad to host you for a shooting session there so you can see if you'd like to join.

Half dozen pistol bays, two shotgun areas (archery at those, some days), three rifle ranges. Nice shade at the pistol and rifle areas. Spouse and kids get a free ride on your membership, they don't pay to shoot.

Took care of the carry permit today. It was quick, just like you said. I actually went to the tax collector's office to do it.

Appointments for FDL's are out to first week of August.

Tampa ATF agent is super helpful. With all the rule changes, I've decided to switch to a 07-FFL and he's helping me out with that.

Things are coming together.

Welcome to FL, glad you made it here, windshields in FL are zero deductible per state law a good thing considering the cost of modern windshields.
