Just remember, guys, that the attempt failed. This could have turned out very different, and tonight, we could be in mourning, and with no direction before us.

Donald Trump was extremely fortunate, and so were we.

Focus on that, because that is what's important.

We knew they would try this. Didn't we? Yes, we did. OK, they tried it and failed. They won't get the chance to try again.

Let's say that the Trump campaign decides that there will be no more outdoor rallies. Even if venues are chosen carefully and security is on their game, perhaps many people will not wish to attend. I pass no judgement in that respect. Because of this, the Trump campaign may consider such rallies not worth the effort, logistics notwithstanding.

But if there are no more outdoor rallies in the next four months, remember this- what happened yesterday shook up and energized people more than a hundred rallies could.

Tonight, Donald Trump is alive. Remember this, above all else.
